My question is very simple and it will explain everything. Was the 2020 gameplay demo all you had during that time? Did you guys pull an Anthem and try to create a game in little over a year? Is that why Joe was brought back last minute? Is that why certain weapons like the 8 gauge shotgun and plasma rifle aren’t in the game? Is that why you are out sourcing forge which won’t be in the game for 6months dropping the custom games community to only a few hundred? Or the fact that I can’t play couch co ops with my friend till 3 months after launch(which we have played every campaign at launch since halo 3 save 5 cuz no couch co op).
All I’m asking 343 is the 2020 gameplay demo, being all you had made at that time, the reason you guys are so far behind on completing Halo Infinite into a FINISHED game?
Please look up the process with game development with new engines. The engine was confirmed to not be fully functional when the demo was released hence they could only build to a certain point. They obviously had more with the size of the world.

So the 4-5 years before the demo was just making the slipspace engine?

You can make part of the game with an incomplete engine. The problem is you can’t make all of it and that’s the roadblock they ran into.

Since I know the basics of programing and working in a 3D editor/engine, yeah it can take several years to make a simple 3D engine, take unreal engine as example, epic put the engine on almost 30 years ago and it has evolved over several years, now imagine make something atleast half as good as unreal engine with a limited time budget.
Who ever came with that idea and those who approved it need to go back to the business management school, is like bake a cake while you make a whole new oven when there are other oven models available, bad decision with bad results.

I see. Welp, all the more reason they should delay a bit longer
