We’ve all seen the new Gamestop Locke trailer. That footage was crazy, but here’s a question, is that in-engine or work done by CG/Blur? If that is indeed in-engine, then dear Lord it looks stellar for ingame. If it’s being done with CG, probably done by Blur. Maybe the opening is CG and the rest is in-engine, who knows, what do you think?

It’s clearly CG. The first actual campaign gameplay footage of Halo 5 won’t come in a Gamestop preorder commercial.
Indeed, it was as more outsourced CGI trash.
CGI, you can tell by paying attention to the volumetric particles.

Trash? It looked pretty well animated to me, and the sound FX were pretty cool. Great production value for a game stop ad.

Irrational hate.
CG it seems.

It served no purpose other than to hype people up topreorder for this nobody’s armor.

And a stunning cinematic that achieves its purpose makes it trash because…?
Also, this “nobody” is a primary character of Halo 5. On the scale of the Arbiter from Halo 2. So… not a nobody in the slightest.
CG most definitely. 343 isn’t going to give any in game campaign footage out this soon. None the less still cool though.
It’s clearly CGI.
Awesome, but the Beta show that Halo 5 will be far from this graphism.
But it’s cool enough
It’s a CG trailer built with in-game assets. The animation team created it to explore/showcase the new Spartan Abilities and then we decided to finish it to share with the community. We’ll release the internal “director’s cut” version at some point in the future.

Thanks Josh!
Read that tweet you posted stating that you guys made it long ago. In-game assets eh? Sweet. Banshee and Ghost look sick!
One more thing…could you please drop a hint as to what the other larger multiplayer experiences are? Pretty please? Plz?
Both trailers were CG.
Maybe the cutscenes in Guardians will be made by Blur.

The first few seconds of the Banshee shooting the pelican, was that in game CG cutscene or part of the trailer in general? It looks like that clip is more detailed than the rest. Same with the shot of Locke from the Best of 2015 trailer.
engine or cgi, it looked bad -Yoink-

Wow, I didn’t think that 343 looked at this amazing website very much to see what we (the fans) are talking about. It’s great to see that 343 is connected with us AND that they’re listening to us. Thanks Josh.
