Was that really necessary?

Did you really need to take the most popular maps in BTIS (Exile and Ragnarok) and make them almost non-existent? In what alternate reality does it make sense to take what people vote for the most and almost completely remove them from rotation?

This is another example of the disconnect that has plagued 343’s tenure over Halo MM.

Completely agree. I’m fine with adding new maps, but to lower the occurrence of the old ones that were liked doesn’t make sense.

I agree with your disconnect statement on MM. Hopefully 343 can continue to work hard on Halo and redeem themselves with Halo 5. As long as they keep working, listening, and trying to make Halo better (and kind of what it use to be) then I’ll be content.

but we love the plain off-white boxes with long hallways and no features. We hate all of the “old” maps…

Seconded.

The solution to maps being played too much is to add maps people want to play more then the other maps.

A few maps that come to mind for BTIS are Harvest and the entire Castle map pack.

Surely you mean Castle, right?

BTB on Skyline. Let’s go!

I still get Exile and Ragnarok. It’s just not an overwhelming amout. Instead I get Settler over and over again. I hate the voting system with a passion.

They need to fix their voting system for the next game, which is the real problem here.

I suggest to two choices between two different maps, and a third choice where you can get a completely random map.

LOL, that’s what I meant.

It would be nice to see a “none of the above” option available again.

It’s a problem in regular slayer as well. Classic 343.

LOL, that actually sounds fun to me.

I really want to do 16 person FFA on Skyline but I don’t even know if there are enough spawns.

Indeed.

343i had Certain Affinity create several very good Dominion maps, all with five bases.

Then the matchmaking folks turn off two bases and limit teams to six players.

I don’t know. I guess “accessibility” trumps fun, epic games.

Some of the 4v4 maps seem so large that they could play well in a Big team game type. Kinda like Boardwalk.

Personally, Ragnarok’s okay, its a little bit stalemate-prone at high levels but generally speaking its alright.

Exile on the other hand is the new Spire, Gauss for one side, not for the other? Scorpion, Banshee and Gauss all on the same map? I’ll pass, this map needs a serious revamp before it should be allowed anywhere near a Matchmaking Hopper.

I wish Ragnarok came up more but I’m so glad Exile doesn’t appear as much anymore. The only reason the majority of people vote for it is because they’re praying that they’ll be Blue team and can rush the Gauss Hog. The only BTB map I hate more is Settler.

This is a tricky one.

People say they don’t always want to play on the same two maps.

343 makes them not appear so often.

People who vote for them want them back.

343 does…

Perhaps add forged maps that my become more popular and welcomed by everyone?

Bring them back only with better balancing? (looks at Exile).

343 can’t appeal to everyone, I’m one of the people who enjoys the maps (to some extent) but quickly gets bored of them.

Adding new maps is my best solution as it adds more variation, we would probably not have this problem if we have had more maps.

I’d rather play on various maps than just two maps that just plain suck in this game.
