Was "split feedback" actually split?

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with requesting clarity on an idea that surprises a person. OP wasn’t being negative (as far as I can see). Not everything’s an argument or ‘fear mongering’.

Yeah but his opinion holds significantly less weight considering 343 has more info to go on. You can simply just ask for more clarity without trying to cast doubt like that.

There is no difference, and this is why I hate MLG/HCS/whatever-the-hell having as much pull as it does. “Casuals” are fans, and some of us don’t want to have adrenaline spikes when we go to play a game of Halo. We just want to relax after a long day at work with our favorite game.

We absolutely do not need that “fan feedback” nonsense that gatekeeps what a “Halo Fan” is.

This is something that’s been a concern of mine for quite a while, and has also been a thing not many people think about, and it’s that 343i often makes statements for the community which often don’t align or otherwise are very questionable.
The statement of “split feedback” on multiple points of the points presented in these feedback blogs often come off as either sensical or disconnected. It’s fair to say that a forum or two aren’t representative of a community as a whole but the concerns of player collision, for example, is something that’s been echoed on Reddit, Waypoint, Twitter, mutliple major Discord servers, Team Beyond’s Halo forum, and so many more players. That should be enough to warrant that it is the majority of the community.

This is similar to past events, especially when 343i were still new and growing, where they’d have polls on questions but despite the outcome of them the decision made was opposite of what the poll wanted and the statement made was “split feedback”. I’m of course referring to the numerous sprint polls and debates held over the years, official and non official, aswell as other topics.
Of course I can’t give proof of everything claimed here although I do have links to sprint related polls and discussions where this is mentioned.

My theory is that 343i still have that early years ego where they believe that they’re in the right regardless of position or action. Of course not as much now as they’re much more open to feedback and transparent but it’s obvious that there are creative liberties that they refuse to change or have a different take on despite the communities dislike to it. Aka they self implement themselves into the conversation and will make the call vague or otherwise “on edge” to make decisions which are in favour of their opinion.

This isn’t a hit piece, this is an observation.

Right? The first indication I got that there would be trouble with sound was the 2020 gameplay demo. That opening moment where their in a pelican getting hit by AA guns and crashing was incredibly underwhelming. I actually spent some time testing all my gear because I genuinely thought that I was missing a channel or something.
