was Regret meant to look like an outdoor midship?

Regret beta gameplay

this is what I was watching when I noticed it kinda looks like an outside decayed midship.

Yes. Regret is a “remix” of Truth (itself a remake of Midship/Heretic)

The map midship is actually a covanent ship your fighting in. Regret is that same ship but crash landed thats why its open because almost everything broke off

oh okay. that’s pretty cool then. lol i haven’t seen it since the beta and had forgotten about it.

It was featured in The Sprint. It has all the answers you are looking for if you’re not satisfied with the answer “yes”.

Yes, and parts of it are actually upside down as well. I think it’s neat.

yes will suffice lol I do like the sprint series though.

Josh (I think) actually made a suggestion to turn Truth (Midship) upside down on another map. And so it happened.

I actually like regret as a remix of truth still kinda of get that vibe of midship/heretic only difference is its outside and open and I like that even though it looks similar to another map its still a brand new map

Yeah, it’s basically a re skin of truth with maybe some different objects

and upside down (if I remember correctly)

The big idea is that Regret is the same ship as Truth that has crash landed, and it’s been there long enough for plants to start growing inside. (the name is funny if you think about it)

Regret/Truth are re-imaginings of Midship/Heretic.

The idea is to give something that overall looks and feels familiar via layout but is specifically tailored for the Spartan Abilities. Much like Last Resort was a Zanzibar with exaggerated dimensions to allow for more vehicular combat and equipment use.

An upside down Truth is intended to mix up the known paths and domination locations… On Truth, you dominate by holding the outsides. On Regret, you dominate by holding the middle. It helps to keeps things familiar in layout while drastically changing the overall sightline strategy.
