Was it worth it 343?

I just have to rant – so forgive me. I can’t force myself to play this right now and the actions and empty apologies.

To release the game on holiday season. then take a break (rightfully so) But not to leave a skeleton crew, or hire contractors to maintain the game while you are gone? To blatantly leave your game in a broken state, but keep dishing out over priced cosmetics from a program you left running? Now that the majority of whales are gone, you might do something after laying in cash? You have single handedly destroyed your player base with 1 swift decision. No game from any era, from a Triple A studio should have it’s playerbase dwindle like this. Then on top of that decide you won’t do anything until Jan 15th? We have games like CS:GO for example maintaining over 750k people online in one time. THIS IS HALO… there isn’t any reason this game shouldn’t be popping 1 million people on at a time. This is just on PC… You barely have 55k people on at a time on PC. Both are on xbox and PC… You guys need to do some serious reflecting and understand your playerbase, and what makes games thrive… it currently isn’t what you are doing… and what your big daddy microsoft thinks… grow a spine! Prove me wrong, make me eat my words.

We all know the problems, we don’t need to regurgitate the immense list of problems. But here are some prominent glaring ones:

Weapon balancing. So many weapons need love and nerfs.
PC controller is unusable in it’s current state.
Ranked has several issues regarding boosting and no MMR restriction – It’s not enjoyable. Plus the MMR and team balancing makes no sense.
Hit detection and desync
Servers are bad + being put into overseas servers
No casual BR playlists to enjoy.
The overpriced MTX paywalls, drip feeding, and lack of true progression. Let alone exp progression on non ranked playlists.
BTB doesn’t even work, let alone how bad it is.
No Forge
No co-op.
Barely any maps and modes
Insanely bad optimization for the PC

Show me a major triple A game that’s released in the last 5 years that hasn’t shown a 25-50% drop off in active players after the first month. I’ll wait.

It shouldn’t be that way, and it’s because of how the Triple A market is being. I legit mentioned this in my post. Did this skip past your head like a rock on water?

Games should be having full healthy lives, what we have now is shallow, callous, and cash grabs. Indie developers do a better job man. Halo 3 in 2009 had 1 million players online. At launch it had around 2.1 million. That’s a 2 year difference. Now look at Halo. Look at it.

Just because other Triple A’s suck doesn’t mean they all should. Get what I am saying here? You don’t see a problem?

Stop with the whataboutism!!!

Unfortunately for us both, releasing a half finished game and marketing it as a live service game and “finishing it” along the way has proven to be a much more profitably business model than the fully finished box model you’re describing. I wish it wasn’t so. But as long as every 12 year old with their moms wallet has access to a F2P game like infinite, nothing is going to change. Talk about a black pill lol

I sincerely hope the game market crashes.

I don’t mind a game being Ftp… as long as it has quality content, progression and everything locked behind an overpriced paywall.

If it’s money they are after which it is, just make games go from 60 to 90$. I rather pay 90$ for a game, than this.

I want this game to thrive but my goodness, does it suffer and it’s going to never get back to popularity levels of Past Halo titles at this rate. Last good Triple A company was CDPR, and look at what they did to cyberpunk :frowning: Go from Witcher series with quallllllity content DLC to that.
