Was it that unpopular?

its pretty obvious that alot of people who complained about the Dub-Step were so vocal that it affected the covenant video. The UNSC weapons video seemed alot more explosive, the covenant one was much more watered down. i do love the Halo 4 OST but i think Dub Step is awesome for Halo 4. Anyone else agree?

I don’t care about the music or the fact that it would influence me in the awesome that are the weapons in Halo 4.

To me it feels kinda weird, I dunno I like some dubstep but I’m not sure if it fits in with Halo. That’s just my opinion though!

I don’t think there’ll be any actual dubstep in the game, so I’m not worried about it. Personally, I like some dubstep (in moderation), and for a weapons trailer, I certainly won’t complain about it.

To be honest the dubstep in the UNSC video was very intrusive and annoying. Not to mention that the clips in the first were way too quick to actually see anything.

This one was more relaxed (mainly because it wasn’t pure dubstep) and I was able to focus more on what has happening.

I understand how the music -Yoink!- the editing, but it’s very intrusive overall and I think it’s counterproductive to the effect 343 is going for.

Yeah i think campaign should have a serious tone and be dramatic like the game has it, but i think high energy fast paced War Games is where Dub Step would fit right in. Im not saying Dub Step should be forced into the game, but i do think itd be awesome if it was put into future Halo 4 montages and also Game promoting events such as the weapons videos have. I just dont like how there was alot of negativity towards the music in the first video and it showed its affect in the covenant video.

It IMPACTS you though. thats the point. it gets your attention and it isnt about breaking down the weapons and game play its about getting peoples attentions and talking about it and getting people to say ‘‘woah, that was cool’’ its the same way when Halo 4: First look was released and people were trying to break down how fast the kill times were. Its about showing an entertaining video

I’m not a huge dubstep fan but I actually liked the covenant weapon videos music.

Dubstep just doesn’t suit Halo 4… plus I think it sounds terrible, but that’s irrelevant. :stuck_out_tongue:

Though you may enjoy dubstep, I don’t know many people in real life that actually like it. To a lot of people I know in real life, dubstep isn’t music but just obnoxious noise. It’s all about music preference, and obviously with the negativity from the first weapons video, it’s not high on some other’s peoples list either.

And when you say that dubstep gets your attention. You’re quite right. But my next action is typically muting it or to stop watching it all together. I do think the Covenant Weapons video actually had a good song, though.

Dub-Step is way better then Justin bieber or kanye west making Halo 4 tracks…right?

The Covies vid was turned down from an 8 to a 4 sound wise and the song is an actual Halo 4 song with a Dub Step twist. Its why i called it watered down. I love Dub Step the same way i love heavy metal, it pumps me up. Also addicted to energy drinks

True, I’m just saying if I had to pick I’d take Kanye over some WUB WUB. Maybe not Bieber though, but that’s a loose/loose situation if the choice was him or some WUB.

i dont know if its old people or if its just main stream music take over but music variety in society has been dead since the 90’s.

How can you not care about the music? This is Halo, not some other game where the only art in it is who can shoot the other player first.

Also, Halo is supposed to be orchestral, not techno.

i think half life had good music, after playing black mesa recently i’ve taken a liking to it, but dubstep isn’t really my thing. but i guess it worked well in syndicate.
