I have never run into anything like this before while playing Reach, and if I have so much time has passed that I’ve forgotten about it, lol.
I was playing a game today with my boyfriend and towards the end of the match (we were tied with the other team with like 8-10 kills to win) the game went black screen for a second and then the list of players came up and it said “starting game” - I’m sure many have witnessed this before. But that’s not the issue. I was alive before the lag or whatever, and when the game started again I was dead, waiting to respawn. This happened over and over until the match ended. Needless to say, the other team won. It happened to my boyfriend several times as well.
Anyone experienced this before and if so can you tell me what happened? It’s happened to me in a couple different games. I wasn’t lagging myself, I know that much. My connection was great the whole time I played.
Also, a while back I was playing and maybe 10 kills into the game everything went black. There was no player list, the screen was just black. A couple of minutes later the game was back on, so I played as I normally do. End of the game I had like 15 kills, but I had died like 19 times, and I know for a fact I only died 7 times. Or I had only witnessed myself die 7 times.
Some form of cheating, maybe? I’m not too savvy in all the ways people can cheat these days. That happened to me more than once as well, every time was in SWAT. That’s all I play anymore, lol.
Just wondering what happened during these games. And thanks to anyone who can give me some insight!

Yes, the other team was using a lag switch
Once is pretty normal, but more than once seems a bit odd. I’m almost positive it’s lag, though.
Happens to me all the time, but if it gives them too much leverage than normal they could be using a lag switch, which is cheating.

I’ll have to dig for the second scenario, but the first one was the last game I played today I believe. SWAT Magnums on Asylum.
I’m not too worried about it, I was just curious about what was going on. Though if it was cheating I’ve got to say that’s pretty sad. It is just a video game after all, lol.
