Was forge already on the disc?

I thought it was strange that the newest update was only around 3 gigs worth of memory, especially since the new and improved forge is included in it. 3 gigs is fairly small for such a large update like that. Heck, the Last update that was arguable smaller content wise was around 7 gigs. Is it possible that Forge was on the disc from the start and was pay walled er… free walled? Is that possible?

Maybe the previous update laid down some framework for the this update in order to make it faster.

I think its because the last content update included most of forge. In order to get the BTB maps, forge was (mostly) downloaded with it.

Also means people can easily get straight into forge without any delay.

if it was people would of data mined it or whatever they do and would of made a hissey fit about it. Its here now, so it doesnt matter anymore and there is no way to get proof.

Maybe it was on the disk (or in a previous update) and just wasn’t ready. It’s not uncommon for developers to purposely ‘hide’ content that is on a disk or in an update until it has been fully coded/reviewed/tested/de-bugged and is ready to go. Perhaps the last update is just a “bug-fix” and “final polish” to the existing layout, code, and framework that was already partially there. Or maybe they were able to compress things Really well into the update. Who knows.

Let’s say it easily. If you breakdown an Editor, which itself mostly is an limited Version of the development Tool(most of the time) from the Game, there is the Software itself, and than the Content aka Assets. In this cases the biggest thing are the Assets which also needs most of the Space. And what do you see everytime when you play?! Right the Assets. So why should they deliver such things again, if they already ingame(aka Maps etc). They only thing which they had to deliver are the Softwarte, the missing Assets which aren’t used in any Map yet, and of course the rest of the Update(Map/Reqs etc and this shouldn’t take very much space exept the original Maps) - the assets which are already in thanks to the Forge Maps we got, “should” (at least) Forge easily can use/extract…(also thanks of the Forge Maps, the Forge Maps itselfs were already in)

/edit: So yeah - most of the Assets should be delivered with the last Patch which brought the 4 BTB Forge Maps…

Let’s see…

This is not at all uncommon for developers to do- both with games and other software.
