Was equipment overpowered?

Well was it? It was taken out of mlg, so I figured they thought so to. There were always tricks to get around them, like online using melee in the regenerator, or drawing the player out of the bubble shield and using grenades. On top of that you had to find these on the map. I don’t get it.

Nowhere close to overpowered. 1 time use and if someone uses them right they are meant to be helpful.

If someone says they are overpowered they don’t know Halo very well or play that well. All of them had workarounds or ways to avoid it. I rarely see anyone use the regen but if they do you are supposed to close in with an AR and then pummel the crap out of them, works every time. Bubble shield is a piece of cake to get a guy out or walk away from. Power drain is so obvious in the locations it will be thrown (like open strat on Valhalla rushing top mid you don’t just run up the hill head first to avoid possible power drains). The flare was hilarious if ever used, I don’t think it’s even in matchmaking anymore but back in 2007 when it was it was more of an annoyance then actually helping anyone. The rdar ja,er was the same way as flare. It wasn’t hard to look around the map and see/hear enemies instead of being reliant on radar like 90% of players seem to be.

In the end they all had counters like a balanced Halo should have … unlike the new ‘halos’ that have people starting with crap they get all game.

They were awesome, and if AA’s tried this approach, maybe they wouldn’t be so hated.

I believe regen was a bit too good in H3, it usually lead to 1v1 pummel parties until the regen ran out or you out melee’d them (although sniping and grenades worded fine against it). It’s a shame a lot were taken out of MM though, radar jammer, and flare were incredibly fun to use.

Now the reason why those were removed was because of some double jump glitch where you could jump on them after deploying them.

tl:dr, regen was iffy, the rest were fine although a glitch caused some to be removed.

Stuff like Thruster Pack, Hologram, Drop Shied, Autosentry, etc. Are anything over than game breaking

Now stuff like Active Camo, Jetpack and Promethean Vision for example should not be in multiplayer

Drop shield slowed down gameplay in reach because whenever you were getting shot you could just pull up a shield and also heal yourself. Regen field is better in every way in halo 4.
