Was Argyle originally supposed to be a Forerunner map?

Not too long ago, I remember reading that Forge is sometimes used to build the framework for official maps. The finished designs are sent to the art team, who then make the aesthetics we see on fully-completed maps.

With that being said, is it possible that Argyle is one of those prototypes? The architecture is so obviously supposed to be Forerunner, unless if there’s a lore explanation about humans suddenly building ships in that style.

I’m happy to have new maps, regardless of their aesthetic; so I hope this topic doesn’t come across as me trying to complain. I just think it’s an interesting theory.

When forge was initially leaked one of the team members said they were working on a UNSC map and a forerunner map. Later that same person said they were surprised that the forerunner map was also changed to UNSC.
For real, it looks just like a forerunner map, but the UNSC skin makes it look weird. Also, I’m just tired of everything being either UNSC or Pacific-Northwest pine forest.

I’m pretty sure you are correct.

I haven’t been able to play Argyle yet but I’m hoping that Detachment gets a artistic update in the future to bring it up to the standard of the other maps. It’s good to have a new map and it plays well enough but it’s a little unpolished graphically.

I suspect that I’d like Argyle much better with a Forerunner makover too.
