Warzone Weapon Selection

To whom it may concern (developers).

I like to collect things in games, all of them.
I’ve run into a problem with the way weapons are selected in Warzone. Towards the end of the match changing one’s loadout becomes a different game where it’s a custom to hastily scroll to the right side and try to pick something useful from the last quadruplet. A lot of the essential screen space is used to show five large, almost identical pictures of “an assault rifle card”. Why is the list of 24 weapons in a single dimension line and not a smart grid by subtype? This is just a ridiculous oversight. I can watch the pretty pictures in my collection when not playing a match allright but during a match and respawns (short respawn times) it’s infuriating to do the hasty scroll/select just to notice how you should already be on the field with your friends but you haven’t even selected the second weapon yet!
Some minor improvements would make tedious routines go away: Let me choose a default weapon out of first level weapons. If I cannot have a perfect grid selector (ref. description and pic below) at least make the up and down arrows scroll a full page forward and backwards. Or if I’m not getting the grid, I’d like the option to hide some of the lesser used cards. Now it’s almost like playing MtG with too large pack.

I know I’m quite late in the cycle and this probably doesn’t get added to this Halo anymore, but hear me out. Here’s my proposal:
Show loadout main weapon types as before. When pressing down or “A” on Assault Rifle, show the different base models one under the other like this:
“Assault Rifle”
“Recon AR”
“Longshot AR”
“Hybrid AR”
“Cog Assault Rifle”
On their right side show the submodels for model each, sorted by level number. The level number must always remain visible, even if you’ve attained that level during the match. Joined with the level number must be the submodel’s icon. Background color can vary by rarity and weapons attainable but currently over your level should be greyed out.
It’s nor rocket science, but it would improve this gaming experience quite a bit if I wouldn’t find myself wooshing some 30-item lists during fierce fights. Does Master Chief ever deal with inverntory management like this? Oh well.

That would work wonders for Warzone! And it shouldn’t be limited to just the loadout weapons either - armor mods, vehicles, power weapons, and power-up selection would be a breeze!

IMO they should just add a favorite section, after the match you can choose load out weapons and armor mods and set them as a favorite so they will be easy to find.

This what I’ve wanted in WZ since launch, although I must admit I imagined the layout would look different i like this version better.

Moving this over to the Halo 5 forums - that’s a great idea OP, love the concept

I’d be on board for that…make it a lot easier to access your loadout weapons. I personally don’t use a lot of the loadouts but i could understand it for those that do

I like this idea too.

And you people probably know this already, but I just want to let everybody know you can scroll faster by holding right on the D-pad while repeatedly moving the right control stick to the right. I find this especially useful when I’m trying to get to the end of the list or armors or helmets.

I personally wish there was a system like this, only i would add a few more sights and attachments to make it feel more diverse and customizable. For instance, why not a promethean sight? I mean you already have a hybrid sight from the carbine, why not have a lightrifle-esque sight on loadout weapons? (I know gamecheat13 already uncovered something like this) so why not? And also, why are only certain attachments available to certain sights? Why not have them available to all variants?

I agree with this. I only use hybrid br, extended mags pistol, upgraded thrusters, and silenced sentinel dmr on Noctus. I have no need for the other ones and wish I just had them all in one place.
