One of the WW2 weapons that was considered state of the art and played a termendous role in the firefights was the British Bren machine gun Bren light machine gun - Wikipedia.
A light & portable automatic weapon of Chechoslovakian design, sporting a retractable bipod. The gun was flexible enough to be used while hand-holding, or stabilised on the ground, with the operator (and sometimes one more person to assist) lying on the ground while unleashing hell for unlucky opponents. The rate of fire was a wooping 520 rounds per minute.
On top of the accuracy of aim the Bren offered, the operator himself became an almost invisible target because of his low position.
Looking back at it, I think it would be great to have a design like that at our disposal in Warzone and Wzff…
Just keep the concept and give it a modern shell.

The Bren gun is one of my favorite guns!
I’d love for a Halo version to happen.
Lazy Link
Also idk, maybe a future new UNSC military gun for Halo 6. Also we already have a machine gun in Halo… the Saw.
Oh, yeah, yes yes yes! That bad boy would be a literal game changer! Only question is, how would the whole laying down and shooting this be implemented without someone saying we need prone in Halo? Other than that, your enemies would never see you coming. But then a new assassination has to be for the gun and the enemy. Enemy would stomp on gunner’s head. You get creative with the gun.
But, yes, this would be awesome to have!
The Bren gun could also switch between auto and semi-automatic fire.

Valid points!
A new move is needed and an assassination as well. I guess ground pound is already a good move to take a single gunner or a two person squad out.
You do realize the M20 is literally better than the Bren in every single way right?
The UNSC’s ammunition would probably shatter its internal workings the moment a single one was fired. Not to mention the design is smaller and more accurate with a MUCH higher rate of fire (The M20s like, 900 RPM).
Just give the M20 a bipod. Done. Leave outdated weapons where they belong…in the past.

Hear hear. Besides, what can the Bren do that the SAW can’t?

Fire pistol caliber ammunitions really about it I think.
And who’s to say the UNSC doens’t have an M739 sub-caliber conversion kit? Misrah Armories makes their weapons modular as all hell.

I just wish we could use some of that modularity from time to time. But I also personally stress the importance of weapons having designed functions in a game like this, for balancing purposes. It’s a hard choice.
no, stop making halo worse than it already is
