Warzone=Waspzone?

I think the new addition of new Wasps has changed the way WZ is played, and not for the better. Its essentially come down to which team can out wasp the other at the beginning. As close to PAY TO WIN as you can get without actually being pay to win, given the infrequency in which one will get a wasp from a REQ pack. Some 6 man teams are just going in a spamming wasp after wasp, giving a lot of teams virtually no chance to counter.
I like the new wasps quite a bit, but I think Warzone is becoming a bit too heavy on the vehicles, and the 6 man team has done nothing to curb farming or balancing the playing field.

I feel like the airborne vehicles are a bit OP in general. The easiest solution is to remove there shields or something in that path.

If you can get enough points to reach req level 5, the Arclight can 1-shot the basic Wasp.

Which is always satisfying. :grinning:

Do know what the vehicle cap for WZ matches is?

Personally, I don’t find the vehicles OP, it’s just that they often have good pilots/drivers.

Bump ONI wasp up one req level.

A regular wasp can be countered by likewise req 3 reqs.

But oni wasp should be req 5 so it can be countered by reqs at level 5.

Oni wasp is too strong vs battle riffles

Airborne vehicles have 1 major weakness, the are in the sky. However the can move around much more easily than most vehicles. that is why a good pilot is extremely deadly and the vehicle will not take any damage when the shield is there to protect them.

**Good.**Those wretched implements of slaughter, note, not warfare, need a real counter.

I think that you are an idiot… Why? I’m pretty damn sure that any PP or a nade launcher can EMP it. So yes you can counter it, stop being an idiot and do that. Or, alternatively, spawn an air vehicle in and stall for time the way your team can EMP the wasps… It all seems so simple…

Sure but unless you always cary a plasma pistol…
You have to avoid it. (Counter = fight and win)
Move it +1 level you have rockets at level 5.

And the main problem is when a team gets to the current level 4 reqs before the other, than spams wasps.

And even if you do cary a plasma pistol you miss you die, you are very distracted while charging and aiming and someone else kills.

You have to get soo close to seek, aiming up the wasp has that advantage.

That tone is most uneeded…

A good pilot will know how to avoid meeting their end against a PP or Propipe, i’ve done it plenty of times. It’s problematic when 6 ONI wasps are surrounding you… Then the balance of power is tipped greatly. Bumping the ONI up to 5, is a proper course of action.

I think air vehicles are only OP when almost everyone on one team (usually the winning team) has them and are just spawn trapping the other team and constantly Banshee bombing them, which is more of an inherent problem with how Warzone fundamentally works, rather than a problem with how air vehicles work. That’s what I’ve found in my experience anyway. There are plenty of ways to take them out, if you’re not being constantly bombarded by them. All the problems with not having sufficient REQs to combat them etc. could be fixed by making the way REQ levelling works less one-sided/snowbally.

I love getting killed every time I leave my spawn zone though. It’s my absolute favorite.

Warzone Turbo is an answer to this problem.

While it is true that an Arclight can 1 shot a Wasp, it is a level 5 req, not level 4.

Even if it was a 4 we would always pull 6 or 7 wasp out at once and just overwhelm a team so bad they couldn’t step out of their armory.

I tend to agree a little. Warzone is a bit wasp heavy right now.

The wasps are easy to kill with req 3 and 4, they should not change anything for my taste

I feel 1 big aspect is to reduce the power of the shield. It’s the shield that makes the vehicles powerful because it’s a protection before the vehicle can take damage. Both the Banshee and the Wasp are overpowered because they do have the shield and the mobility to get in cover quickly. That is also why the Phaeton is the best balanced air vehicle in Warzone.

I feel like the shield on the Banshee and the wasp should get toned down or removed. The mantis has shield but it’s an weak vehicle without it. Mantis is also the vehicle with the best established shield in Halo 5 because it’s a ground vehicle.

The problem with the req system in Warzone that everyone has an individual req level which means if you have a bad game, you would probably only have level 2-3 reqs at that time. It’s also the same flaw with banshees (especially sword/ultra/temple) because a good pilot has the skill to avoid let the vehicle take damage which means only very few weapons can take a banshee in the sky.

even though I love the wasps I do agree they changed how warzone is played quite a bit. Not sure if its for the better or worse though

Which weapons do you use against a skilled Wasp pilot?

I feel 343 has not done a good job with both the Wasp and the Banshee to balance it for Warzone. The req level should reflect the power of that specific req but that isn’t the case with both of those air vehicles. The Wasp and Banshee is a dominant vehicle in all the BTB maps that do feature them.
