So I just got Halo 5 a couple days ago. Even though I’m new and I’m suppose to be bad (never used an Xbox One controller until I got the game), I feel like the game isn’t balanced by skill level. It would be cool if all the low-ranked newbies can be all together, because of all my Warzone games I’ve played, I’ve only won 2/7 of them. And since Warzone has 12 v 12, I feel like my team would have a chance. Sadly, that’s not the case. I’m just asking for something like Arena, which puts you in leagues of skill (correct me if I’m wrong). So what do you guys think of balancing in Warzone. Tell me if this is already a thing, but be nice about it. I’ve only played Halo 5 for a couple days.

I have heard that the game is “trying” to put people on same skill level together in warzone. What happens is that this mode is 100% social and by social it means that everyone can join in. So the game basically find 24 people of different skill level and put them all together which is why some game are unbalanced, some are really close, etc.
In my opinion, it is fine the way it is and it would be hard to create an algorithm to place people of the same skill level in the same game when this is unranked and “no stats is recorded”
Warzone is considered by many to be “casual” multiplayer, but it is much less forgiving for new players than a lot of people realize. There is a lot more map to get familiar with, there are a LOT more weapons to get familiar with, and vehicles are just not intuitive, but nearly impossible to get by/around without.
Don’t worry about your W/L record, and play. Ignore the wannabes telling you that you suck and you should stop or that you should do something else. To get better at Warzone, you have to play Warzone, and you have to learn the maps and flow. We all had to get used to it at some point.
Keep hacking away at it, mate.

Wow, what you said really made me realize that I’m not the best player, but I’m trying to be. I should be myself and gain skill as I play. Thank you, sir. you really opened up my eyes. And for that, you get a like

It’s really that simple. I like to think of myself as a competent player. I’m never going to rank onyx, but I’m no bush league weeaboo, either. I started out sucking, negative K/D, no loadout options, and it was frustrating, but I put effort into getting better and working on timing, reflexes, and building system mastery. Plus, gaming is good for your brain, so there’s that incentive.
Hit me up on Live if you ever want some people to play with. I don’t use my mic lately, because my wife hasn’t gotten one yet, and it makes it difficult for us to communicate if I’m wearing mine (and she doesn’t like that), but you are welcome to roll with us.
Do a little searching around for threads where other people have asked for tips. They come up quite a bit, and they’re full of different things that you can try to help boost your effectiveness based on different play styles.
Warren has an unseen matching system that places player together depending on the amount and rarity of your REQ cards.
Ranked uses tight skill based MM. Try that.
Warzone is a social playlist so it uses loose skill based MM(like you’d find in COD, Destiny or older Halo social playlists).

Ok, sorry Warzone, not Warren, my computer has autocorrect and it’s as bad as an iPhone. Sorry about that.
Warzone update is bad
