Warzone should = end of cross-game consistency

Warzone
IMO, Warzone’s a great addition to Halo IF it’s just an addition. In order for Warzone to add something to Halo, it must be two things:

1. Just an addition, and not a replacement for something…anything else.

Warzone is not BTB. Warzone is not Firefight. Warzone is not Spartan Ops. Warzone is Warzone, and nothing else. If having Warzone means forfeiting something else … Warzone adds little to nothing to Halo.

2. The m**ark of the end of having pure, cross-game consistency.

What happens in Warzone, stays in Warzone. One example would be Sniper scope glare. Can the glare appear in campaign? Of course. Does it have a place anywhere in Arena? No. There are plenty examples, but this one should be one of the most obvious.

Warzone demands a number of things which make no sense, and have no place, in any of the traditional Arena game modes (including BTB). Expanded radars, Sniper scope glare, choice-location spawning, and many, many more. In order for Warzone to be a healthy addition to Halo games, it should be treated as its own standalone experience, not replace any other longtime favorite game modes, and have no influence on Arena.

as someone who plays team snipers religiously on pretty much everything that has the playlist, and as a 44 in snipers in halo 3, I was kinda pissed about sniper glare. I can understand having it, but its really REALLY strong in this game and its pretty easy to see even across the map. Specially the beam rifles glaring purple flare. Because it may as well be a flare.

Doesn’t it already affect the weapon balance in Arena? I swear I’ve seen scope glint in the Slayer playlist.

Yes. Sniper scope glare is currently present throughout the entire game…it was even in the Team Snipers weekend playlist.

  1. I think you’re implying that old gamemodes can’t ever be replaced entirely with new gamemodes. I’m not sure I agree with that thought process. I will agree that Warzone in its current form is too alien from what BTB used to be for it to be considered a good replacement.

  2. If something is a stupid idea it shouldn’t be included anywhere in the game.

  1. No. Not saying that. Just saying Warzone is too different from everything else to be considered an adequate replacement. As you said, “too alien”.
