This is one of the few things that Destiny got right. If one team’s score is significantly higher than the other, the game draws to a premature close. This is really the easiest way to curb farming on warzone. Is it embarrassing? Sure, but not as embarrassing or as frustrating as getting locked in your base for the next ten minutes as the enemy team camps your core without destroying it. They still get the win, but their KD isnt boosted as much and yours isnt dropped as much.
There’s still chances for comebacks though. That’s why they haven’t fixed “Boss Stealing”, because 343 sees it as a viable “surprise comeback and win the game” option. Easier solution? Just don’t be trash and farm. And if you run into farmers, report them so you don’t run into them again and they get punished.

When the enemy has all three bases and the score is 500+ to 100 and they’re req level is 7-8 versus your 2-4
There is no comeback. There just isnt. Well, there is always a chance, but it’s almost as useles as palmer’s “We’re not out of this yet, we can still destroy their core”
But regardless, that’s besides the point. Farming has been a serious problem for the passed few months so thats a clear indicator that it’s easier said than done.
Destiny player here(and you have my approval to laugh at me for playing it), yes. This should solve warzone “farming”. Even though not many people like the mercy rule (especially my recent teammates in crucible), it helps ease the pain of getting killed further by the dominant players.
At least keep giving the losing team the REQ points based on the duration of the match. They deserve it for enduring themselves.
I say make it so the game ends once one team has reached 800 while the other is under 300. Because I’ve seen plenty of games where comebacks occur between those two points.
Pair this with my idea for turrets on the home bases and it’ll be winter time for the farmers.
We need an improved version of those turrets from Halo 4, the ones from Dominion and Spartan Ops. They did their job very well and even had the ability EMP vehicles by firing an EMP shot every so often. Add three or four of them, two on each side of the bases.
Increase their health, damage and/or fire rate, put them outside the home bases on the top of the bases, and make them respawn after a short time. It’d prevent people from farming very quickly.
I’d say make them indestructible but not everyone farms so it’d be unfair.

Just don’t make the turrets too strong or we’re gonna get another rant topic. LOL!

If it’s 800 to 100 there’s literally noway the other team can COMEBACK I agree with OP I hate farming noobs it’s BORING! The team should be able to surrender instead of getting raped by ppl like me.

I personally dont see how that’ll work. If they’re too strong, how are people going to attack the core? But if theyre too weak, then if players are bum rushing the base with vehicles and power weapons they can easily just take them out.
I think the mercy rule isn’t necessary personally. I never really got to frustrated with farming mostly because there is ways around it. That might be cause I always play in a party though.

What I like about the turrets in Halo 4’s Dominion is that they’re not durable, but can help ease off vehicles entering the area. Just make them as tough as a standard warthog along with dealing as much damage as the UNSC marines. Marines with the turrets would make a great defense for the bases/core. Maybe only respawn turrets by players holding their use/reload button. (Default: X)

I don’t know about making them do the same damage as marines, I don’t think they should kill the enemy player, just create an annoyance.
If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. I just feel like the bases need something to stop the enemy from camping outside the base other than a core destruction or someone getting lucky and capping a base.

Yeah. You’re right. But still. Bringing back the turrets from Halo 4’s Dominion is a nice idea…
Or they could do what Team Fortress 2 does and have a room where only the home team can enter/exit. Put it in the back so it doesn’t effect gameplay much for normal warzone matches.
The only way i can see this working would be if everyone on your team was to vote for it other wise NO way .and im not even a fan of that idea but it could work.

A vote to give in wouldn’t be such a bad idea as well…

I like this idea
block off the part of the home base where the pelican drops you off with a a barrier that teammates can go through but enemy players can’t thusly stop if the farming and forcing the enemy team to destroy the core

heh…uhheheh…uhehahaha…uhehahaaahaaaaa…uhehaHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA
no i disagree. if you run into farmers report and blocked them it’s simple there’s a chance that they will get banned
I think there should be a button that everyone on your team can press and once everyone presses the button the game automatically ends. And I put that everyone has to press it because there could be trollers out there who could end the game for no good reason. Or if mostly everyone on the presses the button like 10 out of the12 or 9 out of the 12.
