Warzone Rant-First Base-Where's The Fun?

It has been a while since I’ve come onto to this channel and discuss something in general. To no one’s surprise, I’m ranting about Warzone. But this time, it is not the game that I hate. It’s my fellow teammates.

In 3 straight games, my teammates could not capture the first base in Warzone.

First game was on Stormbreak. That should be the EASIEST first base to capture. I don’t know what my allies were doing while I was trying to clear the Fortress and get the first boss. I was able to take down a lot of A.I. and the boss, but after I died, I was surprised no one had captured the first base. When the enemies managed to get all the bases, one teammate and I in ghosts traveled to the other side to capture the base and was successful. However, it didn’t last long. Since half of my team was gone, the scores were way too far apart, and all the bases were captured in less than five minutes, I quit.

Second game was on Noctus. This is an interesting one. Because the map is a circle, it’s easy to grab any base. One of the things I get annoyed about, however, is when 80% to literally the entire team go for the Monument first and I am practically the only one going for one of the Garages. What’s worse is that when I died, I don’t even know if my team managed to get the first boss which is so easy because they’re literally right outside our door. What’s worse than that, however, is having practically the entire enemy team wait outside of Home Base, killing everyone the moment they get out. Eventually, getting frustrated, I quit.

Once I quit, I told myself if it happens a third time, I would quit. And low and behold, it happened again on Sanctum. As my teammates took care of the first two bosses and tried to get the Garage, I went to the Temple to clear out some enemies, but was gunned down by two players. Then once I spawned, I found that the enemy was capturing our Garage before we even grabbed it. I tried to capture it, but died before I could get there. So, just to try to grin and bare it, I tried to capture the enemy Garage. Sure enough, I died and the enemy team had all the bases in less than 5 minutes. Of course…I rage quit.

(Sigh.)

Now, I don’t like quitting so early in a game, especially rage quitting. But it just gets so infuriating when something like that happens 3 games straight.

I do acknowledge and respect the tactics of trying to go for the easy win and prevent enemy players from getting bases and the bosses. Of course, that happens when my team does it and we get an easy win. But I don’t like going for all the bases just to get the win. I like to play a long game where the score is so close to each other that anyone can win. That makes it fun and tense. It’s a game of will they or won’t they.

As I conclude my little rant, I wonder if many of you go through the same thing and get annoyed. And we all know that ARC is the easiest map to get all the bases in such a short amount of time an make it near impossible for anyone to escape the Home Base because the map is designed like a U.

Rant over.

Side note, one thing I don’t understand about the game is the Pause Menu. The Pause Menu shows your deaths from enemy players AND A.I. as well as your assists in killing enemy players and A.I. The one thing I don’t understand is how come the Pause Menu doesn’t acknowledge the amount of A.I. you killed. Only the Spartans. Where’s the logic in that? You see your deaths and assists when it comes battling Spartans and A.I., but not killing the A.I., and it only shows it at the end of the game on the scoreboard? What?

Oh well.

I can’t wait for HALO 6 Infinite. While we are getting customizable options like Halo: Reach, I do hope that we get to play as Elites again and hopefully we’ll fight the Flood again. Even though I’m not a fan of the Flood, they are way better than the Prometheans. And with E3 coming soon, we’ll surely see a trailer. But the game probably won’t come out until next year, right?

Yeah I seem to have these troubles too, you’re not alone. Most of the team mates I get are absolute trash but still not worth a quit. xp

Thing is, I’m level 149. It takes forever to level up.

Yeeeeeah, I read up on the leveling up system. I mean I’m only level 129 so it’s not taking too long to level up so far, which is why I’m dreading moving on up in the ranks. Not looking forward to 151 I assure you! xD

If I’m going to be honest you probably won’t ever reach 151 lol. Unless you play this game 8 hours a day for an entire year.
I’m level 149 as well lol.

343: If you want to reach MAX Level, you have to sell your life to us. Mua-ha-ha-ha!

Or do Warzone boosting with an entire team and complete matches in less then 5 minutes for a ton of XP.
Problem?
You’d have to do that non-stop with 12 other people for about a month or longer.

As a solo player I can tell you the only fun in warzone is either heroic warzone firefight or warzone turbo and in turbo you can’t care about winning or losing you just have to play for fun or your own individual performance. What I used to do for fun in regular warzone was always just try and get or even better steal the boss kills.

Having reached SR 151 not too long ago, I can guarantee the grind is horrendous. 15 million XP is needed to reach 152 from 151.

War zone is in a pretty bad state

You could play with friends? If nobody is bothering to capture the first base then why don’t you? I rarely ever go for the boss at the start ( unless its turbo ) . You can’t rely on randoms to do anything you’d like them to do, so do it yourself.

I think it’s funny that in two of the games you’re doing the same thing that you’re complaining about which is not capturing your base. If it’s that important to you, then you should capture it yourself. For Noctus, the Monument is the most important base so it’s normal if most of your team goes for that.

I got 15 million XP in around five months from just playing three hours a day so it’s very doable.

Getting to 152 is a hella grind but not that bad if you had the game from the start and paid attention to it. #1 use the XP boost and play featured playlist when ever possible. I have a little under 24 days of play time and I am sr151 and a third of the way to 152. I grind a lot of heroic warzone firefight and use rare XP boost. I made sure to pay attention when there was an HCS event to get those free gold and Platinum packs to get the boost (Platinum packs were awesome for boost). When those legendary boost packs came out I made sure to get a few of them. With the right strategy it really can not be to bad.

Well first off I understand your troubles with teammates. Not everyone does what their supposed to do to win the game and it makes things very frustrating.

But heres the thing, you complain so much about your team not doing what you want, yet you quit the game and leave them! Then on top of that instead of taking the first base on Stormbreak, you go and try to take out the AI. You should’ve have went for the first base and helped your team.

Judging from your entire “rant” you think very highly of yourself. You think that your the most valuable player on the team that deserves to get all the glory. You’re just as much at fault for your failures in battle as your teammates are.

Spoken like a true trooper! The whole time I’m reading the post I’m thinking the same thing. Why doesn’t this person help their team?

Good point. It is just as much as my fault. And to be honest, I don’t think very highly of myself. I’m a regular casual player who has both good games and bad. It is my fault for quitting so early. I was just getting annoyed it happened so often. One thing I wish the game had was a few seconds of spawn protection. Like 3-5 seconds at least.

I did help my teammates clear out the base. I stayed and waited for a bit. I just wanted to clear the boss so that we could be a few points a head. A lot of good that did. Basically, I made the rant because I was angry at the time. Luckily, I managed to cool off a bit. Will I be going back to Halo? Not immediately. I still have other games I could play.

Though, you do understand it’s frustrating dying so many times at the beginning of the game.

You’re right, I should’ve helped. That’s the problem. Even on a team, I’m sort of a lone wolf. It would help if I used my headset more often and be a real team player.

I was just angry at the time it was happening. Video games are the number one place I go to release any frustration I have. Trouble is, it can also add to my frustration.

I mostly get frustrated at dying so quickly with no spawn protection.

After having some time away from the game, I’ve been able to cool down. A majority of you are right, about me not being a team player while playing those three games. I acted as a Lone Wolf with my own goal in mind. If I had my headset, I could’ve been a better team player, helping my teammates capture the first base, and not have rage quit so early. I wasn’t in my right mind while playing those games.

Usually if the first base is captured, whether it’s at the beginning, middle, or end of the game, I race to a base that has the least amount of enemies to capture it. It’s just a little annoying to die repeatedly when leaving the home base to try and capture the first base, especially when the enemy teams REQs are going up much quicker, allowing them better weapons and vehicles.

I was just angry in the moment, and caring for my own self interest to try to win and have fun. I’m not denying that. I can start being a better team player by using a headset and not being a lone wolf so much.

Basically the rant was to get rid of some unwanted steam.

Out of curiosity, what is your number 1 favorite Warzone map?

Mine is Apex. It’s a beautiful location and has a roughly balanced layout. Though, it is too easy for a particular base to get the second Legendary boss.
