It has been a while since I’ve come onto to this channel and discuss something in general. To no one’s surprise, I’m ranting about Warzone. But this time, it is not the game that I hate. It’s my fellow teammates.
In 3 straight games, my teammates could not capture the first base in Warzone.
First game was on Stormbreak. That should be the EASIEST first base to capture. I don’t know what my allies were doing while I was trying to clear the Fortress and get the first boss. I was able to take down a lot of A.I. and the boss, but after I died, I was surprised no one had captured the first base. When the enemies managed to get all the bases, one teammate and I in ghosts traveled to the other side to capture the base and was successful. However, it didn’t last long. Since half of my team was gone, the scores were way too far apart, and all the bases were captured in less than five minutes, I quit.
Second game was on Noctus. This is an interesting one. Because the map is a circle, it’s easy to grab any base. One of the things I get annoyed about, however, is when 80% to literally the entire team go for the Monument first and I am practically the only one going for one of the Garages. What’s worse is that when I died, I don’t even know if my team managed to get the first boss which is so easy because they’re literally right outside our door. What’s worse than that, however, is having practically the entire enemy team wait outside of Home Base, killing everyone the moment they get out. Eventually, getting frustrated, I quit.
Once I quit, I told myself if it happens a third time, I would quit. And low and behold, it happened again on Sanctum. As my teammates took care of the first two bosses and tried to get the Garage, I went to the Temple to clear out some enemies, but was gunned down by two players. Then once I spawned, I found that the enemy was capturing our Garage before we even grabbed it. I tried to capture it, but died before I could get there. So, just to try to grin and bare it, I tried to capture the enemy Garage. Sure enough, I died and the enemy team had all the bases in less than 5 minutes. Of course…I rage quit.
(Sigh.)
Now, I don’t like quitting so early in a game, especially rage quitting. But it just gets so infuriating when something like that happens 3 games straight.
I do acknowledge and respect the tactics of trying to go for the easy win and prevent enemy players from getting bases and the bosses. Of course, that happens when my team does it and we get an easy win. But I don’t like going for all the bases just to get the win. I like to play a long game where the score is so close to each other that anyone can win. That makes it fun and tense. It’s a game of will they or won’t they.
As I conclude my little rant, I wonder if many of you go through the same thing and get annoyed. And we all know that ARC is the easiest map to get all the bases in such a short amount of time an make it near impossible for anyone to escape the Home Base because the map is designed like a U.
Rant over.
Side note, one thing I don’t understand about the game is the Pause Menu. The Pause Menu shows your deaths from enemy players AND A.I. as well as your assists in killing enemy players and A.I. The one thing I don’t understand is how come the Pause Menu doesn’t acknowledge the amount of A.I. you killed. Only the Spartans. Where’s the logic in that? You see your deaths and assists when it comes battling Spartans and A.I., but not killing the A.I., and it only shows it at the end of the game on the scoreboard? What?
Oh well.
I can’t wait for HALO 6 Infinite. While we are getting customizable options like Halo: Reach, I do hope that we get to play as Elites again and hopefully we’ll fight the Flood again. Even though I’m not a fan of the Flood, they are way better than the Prometheans. And with E3 coming soon, we’ll surely see a trailer. But the game probably won’t come out until next year, right?
