Nice find, exactly what many of us who enjoy playing Warzone with our teams and friends are asking for. 343 seems to want to create an artificial sense of a huge population by making matchmaking as fast as possible to the detriment of the quality of the matches themselves. I’d much rather wait longer in both Warzone and Arena if it meant my party would be matched against opponents that would provide an interesting game because of similar party size and skill. In Warzone we didn’t want to end the game in 5 minutes, but when 343’s matchmaking put our 12 against a bunch of solo players it was either end the game or slaughter the other players for 20 minutes. The times when we would match another team, win or lose, were extremely satisfying in the long run. 343 needs to really evaluate what the priority of their matchmaking system is supposed to be, speed so they look good or match quality so the players have the most fun.

I think it should match similar sized fire teams against each other, like solo vs solo 2-3 vs 2-3 , 4-6 vs 4-6 etc. this would work amazing as smaller teams may match 12 mans which wouldn’t be fun for them

And its sad were talking about fair matchmaking in 2016 almost going into 2017. You think 343 would know how matchmaking is actually suppose to be for being in control of a triple A title.

I agree that there is a zero sum gain in matchmaking, speed vs quality, and 343 has opted for speed. I mostly solo, but do wish 4/12 spartan fireteams had the ability to schedule matches vs other fireteams in arena and WZ. They should also implement a que. "there are no fireteams available, would you like to continue to wait? or divide your fireteam into 2 (6 each). I do not believe that individuals should ever be matched vs fireteams, so the 6 spartan fireteam limit is a compromise between the two.
