Warzone Opinions?

What’s up guys? So Halo 5 is going to have a matchmaking game type called Warzone as I’m sure most of you heard about. I’d like to hear your guys’ opinions on the req packs, boss fights, covenant/promethean enemies, and player vs. player action. What’s your prediction on the success of this match type? Kind of reminds me of Titanfall’s battles of attrition because of the “minions” or canon fodder running around the map. Although, in Halo 5 we can expect the enemies to be pretty challenging.

This is the part where I normally smirk and make a “What’s Warzone?” troll post.

But I’m going to be sincere here, truth is I’m incredibly excited to try it out, especially the invasion variation. I believe REQ cards will find moderate success and they defintiely add a fresh way to earn armor and to play better to earn more REQ points.

Personally not too interested in it, but I probably will play it from time to time.

Same here. As someone who was never very interested in Firefight I don’t feel like War zone will be my cup of tea, though I won’t rule it out entirely until I give it it’s fair run. Though the chaos of also adding PvP into the mix does it make it a bit appealing to me.

Personally the only type of PvE gametypes I’ve ever liked was Horde 2.0 from Gears of War 3. That being said I was never into Firefight or Spartan Ops but like I said I will give Warzone a fair try.

I’d argue it’s more like BTB than firefight. Meaning the focus is more PvP than PvE. It’s essentially just 12 vs 12 dominion with AI mixed in.

I am very excited for warzone, personally. I love the fact that there’s so much to do, making sure there’s something for everyone.

I agree with this assessment, and this is why I don’t think Warzone (as it is now/will be at launch) will be any sort of big sensation. To me, it doesn’t do PvE better than firefight, and it doesn’t do PVP better than BTB. It just seems like a conservative spartan’s new new. They spent a lot of their resources on this game mode, yet there’s no other variations of it at launch? I dunno. As others have said, it will get it’s fair shot - I just personally don’t find it interesting or appealing at all.

I imagine it’s fate will be determined by the time I try it out though, as I refuse to start searching Craigslist for my copy of Halo 5 till both BTB and Team Snipers are in the game. I do think REQ has a ton of potential though. I was pleasantly surprised by, and rather impressed with what 343 appears to have done there.
