I was just playing Warzone on the map Raid on Apex 7 and the enemies didn’t spawn early into round 3? We killed 6 out of 30 something Knights at the beach and then we couldn’t find any enemies for the next 4 minutes or so and I’m certain they weren’t hiding or whatever because my whole team was trying to find them on ghosts. I just thought this was odd and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
Yeah, this has happened to me before. In fact, it was so bad that we lost the complete match of Warzone Firefight because not a single Grunt out of 75 spawned at the beginning of Round 2 that was supposed to. Everyone was wandering all over the map - Prospect - and looking for the Grunts and nobody spawned.
There’s a fantastic glitch on Prospect where no enemies spawn when you are tasked with defending the two cores at the top of the garage. Only happens sometimes, but man it’s so much fun standing around doing nothing for 5 minutes!
Firefight has a ton of issues like the one you described though. That one screws you since you can’t complete the round while a small percentage of those issues can be seen as helpful (although not fun).
This usually happens when someone splatters a Crawler/Soldier/Grunt/Elite at nearly the exact moment they warp in, causing the game to essentially “miss” a kill in its counter. So the next wave of enemies never gets triggered because the game “thinks” there’s still an enemy on the field that hasn’t been killed yet. I’ve never heard of (or seen) this happening in rounds where you have to kill x amount of Knights because you can’t splatter them.

I’m wondering if it’s a case of trees not making a sound when no one’s around. Apex 7 is a pretty big map so maybe if there are no players within a certain radius of the spawn zones on the other side of the map then no more Knights spawn in.

Enemies will spawn in so long as the kill threshold to trigger the next wave is crossed (i.e. enemies 15-20 won’t spawn in until enemy #14 is killed). No one has to be in certain spots on the maps to trigger spawns. Now if no one knows where to look to find them, that’s a different story. But they’ll be on the map ready to shoot at the first guy who comes close enough.
