Warzone new boss ideas

As warzone is just simulation for spartan IVs, technically anyone can be added? Think about it 343i could add tartarus, regret, even flood bosses!
You guys have any suggestions?

How about more AI allies. Like a battle between the SoS and covenant or elites vs brutes.

Given you have a team of 12, some AI enemies are a little more necessary, but if this PvE idea actually happened then AI allies would be good, like when we got ODST allies in the firefight map from CEA

The hardest part is they only have enemies and allies found in the game so far. They could make a gravemind, a rampant Cortana, brutes, etc. But that will take much more time and money. Not sure if I see 343 doing that.
With what we have now, I think the best thing they could do would be to have hordes of enemies. Each kill nets points so there’s no kill stealing. Your team basically fights an army of Covenant and tries to get as many kills as possible, denying the enemy team as many points as they can.

why would they program a whole new enemy which only appears in warzone once or twice. given how often they recycled the warden, they certainly won’t do something like that.

I wish they’d make it less like arena and more like FireFight. Where’s the PvE? Where’s the more frequent enemy fights? These are bases, there should be more marines and the like around to defend/attack. Warzone feels like 12 v 12 could be split up into “sub companies”, add option to communicate objectives, add more objectives, add more to the map in terms of smaller/more frequent yet tactical buildings. Sniper towers, armories ( should be smaller), make each building alter the type of REQ’s you can access ( armories reduce cost of weapons ), garages reduce cost of vehicles, etc. There’s so much potential to be had here. Adding bosses is just the start to be honest.

I can see firefight in a future update, same way forge dropped yesterday, big content drops every so often to keep up interest in the game

What I’m saying is firefight will drop in the future, but warzone right now could expand on the boss variety, as so many people take grievance towards the recycling of our mysteriously back story lacking repetitive foe the warden eternal

Yes, bosses suck. I’m not arguing that, I’m saying new/Random bosses is the first step to making warzone a great game type. Why waste 10 to 20 minutes each game doing the same -Yoink- every time on different maps, when I can just play faster games without static boss fights? That’s my argument.

It’s apparent that they can’t add “anything” because so far they’ve only added re skins. I very much doubt we’ll see anything besides recycled content. I really want to be wrong but I can’t see it.

How about this for PvE?
Take “Attrition” gametype straight from Titanfall.
Make an urban map, take Halo 2 early missions as an example. Fillit with contact Covenant dropships and Prometheans warping in. Make them Heroic and make them worth less than Player Kills, like worth 1 point for grunts, crawlers, and jackals, 2 for elites and soldiers, and 5 for hunters and Knights. Player kills worth 10 points.
Then let teams of Spartans run amok!
Imagine that opening scene of Halo 5, Sparano charging through Covenant and Prometheans, add in other spartan teams in a battle royale.
And -Yoink- holding locations. Or at least make it another game type.
Anyone think this would not be a great idea and really scratch that PvE, Pvp itch we all have?

Don’t forget the Didact! Wish the flood was in halo 5 so we could have a flood warzone map too. Would be awesome. Would like to see the heretic from Halo 2 (sorry totally forgot his name) with his holograms (maybe like 10 of them instead of 3). Would have been cool if there was a scarab too

2000 point limit for really big games where you can achieve those high req levels too and keep them for a while to really get the big guns out.

As a software engineer, I’d like to argue that you’re wrong. It’s not that they CAN’T add anything new, they choose not too. It’s much easier to add a reskin of something that’s already there because of the overhead. When you add something new, you have to test physics, rendering, make sure it’s not game breaking, rebalance as necessary, make sure it works with everything and doesn’t add new bugs, etc.

So, let’s walk through a process to add say a falcon.

  • Create basic image/render of what it would look like.
  • Load into list of possible objects
  • Develop control logic
  • Develop Physics logic for controls
  • Extensively test and refine controls and physics.
  • Test/Develop interaction between players and logic
  • Test weapon systems and players on weapon systems.
  • Test bounds/limits of falcon in relation to map design and bounds.
  • Make sure phaeton and banshee work as expected and test how they interact with falcon
  • Test how destroyed/falling falcon handles/interacts
  • Add reskins since they never have “1” of something like it
  • Have people test to make sure everything is still balanced ( damage dealt and taken, speed, etc )
  • Push changes to larger system/development.

Overall, you’re talking weeks to months for a single thing. They don’t see a big enough reward unless enough people want it. That’s why they say talk on the forums and build interest. The Spnkr was a redesign/rehash of the rocket launcher we had, so not much had to change and not much work needed. People forget that.

Remember, it’s all about investment and returns. They see more return on updating/fixing/reskinning than they do on new development.

I understand the work going into the above, but given the falcon exists, it was popular alongside the hornet and code already exists for it, use even the h2a hornet as the main code+frame work, physics and design is there for it, it wouldnt take too long would it? That’s not me arguing its a genuine question of would it be much work to take it from the MCC code and bring it to h5 after some tweaks? even if just in forge so it wouldn’t need consideration for balance issues
