The more and more I play Warzone and the better I get at it, I found that there are many instances of defeat that are completely outside of my control. Weather it be players -Yoink- around like idiots and not actually working towards the goal, or players just not knowing what to do. I find this a lot in Warzone Firefight. Most of the times I loose is because my team just had no sense of direction. Just this last game, I was killed by one of the final Mythic bosses of the match and I got to spectate (there seriously needs to be a way to track different players while dead. This ‘static view’ is absolute crap.), and I saw 3 of my teammates not killing the last Wraith boss (which had about a sliver of health after I was done with it), but taking pock shots at Grunts halfway across the map. I get it, if you lack situational awareness, but seriously, if it’s Round 5, and there’s 6/7 bosses killed, you should probably be converging on the final boss.
I think the best thing to include with this would be a similar command system that Battlefield has… and the Campaign has… Just a simply D-Pad Up press over a boss’s health bar to call out to all players that they should focus on the boss. I think even the slightest amount of direction for players could cause more and more games to be won, especially ones that come down to loosing where the boss only has a few HP left, but there wasn’t enough time for damage.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, the biggest problem with Warzone (especially FF) are the bad players. And I don’t mean the people who only get a few kills, I’m talking about the the people that lack any common sense, the one’s who contribute absolutely nothing except for being easy kills for the enemy. Not taking down bosses, driving around in a hog, killing teammates, not calling in high power reqs, not defending the base (the AI is in the base and we are about to lose the game, just get in there but no you’d rather stay outside shooting at them with your crappy AR.)
There needs to be to way to join games with people on your level. I’ve lost 4 out of my 5 last warzone ff games but I got over 90 kills in each one except the first which we lost in only round 2 but I had around 50 kills.
Glad you brought this up. I’ve wanted this since last year. The best solution is probably using your mic and speaking directly to the team…but perhaps the gameplay would benefit from a more formal way.
The biggest issue I see of players not knowing what they’re doing is on Apex 7 in particular. Kill 25 Ghosts/Knights, etc. The previous round is almost always in the center of the map and then you have to head back outside to the large bases and there’s no boss indicators. And until you know the map, the outer beaches areas can get a bit confusing. At least with Ghosts/Covenants, there’s at least a chance to see Phantoms, etc. With Prometheans, especially on the larger maps teammates can disappear for 2-3 minutes again, especially if they’re on foot and don’t know the caves or how to jump into those sniper nests that lead to back doors to bases.
Strombreak’s Kill 25? Knights is pretty bad too as some spawn and hang out on that big loading dock near area that sticks out over the cliff by the big/central fortress building. I’ve been in quite a few games where noone knew to go there, even when yellow indicators are going on to show teammates are in combat. And while the map is far more friendly than Apex 7, there’s really no other round that really require you to head down there. But at least on Apex 7 they stand out a bit more on the sandy beaches instead of down on that grey-ish/silver-ish platform surrounded by grey-ish/silver-ish boxes for camouflage.
Even if this was implemented, it wouldn’t really improve anything on a large scale. Hell, next to no players actually use the ping system already in the game. Battlefield’s, it’s just there really for immersion. Has anyone actually given you ammo when you called out for it, or health? Or suppressing fire, or to rush an objective? No.
I think one issue in FF is bad commands giving by the coms. I’ve had games where the coms say take out all hostile air targets but the written command says take out promethians including ground troops.
Wz too many people give up just cause they are losing and don’t give it their all.
There really isn’t anything they can do other than to force players to play the objective. Battlefield has been fighting this battle for years now. Their class systems have always been balanced around the assumption that there will be an even spread of roles and that people will stick with their squad and play their role. But in actuality, everyone just plays Assault or Medic and they never drop health or never revive.
At least it sounds like your only encountering bad players in terms of skills. We could always trade and you could have my luck, which is getting placed with team mates who make it their mission to purposely troll EVERYONE.
Example: I was in one game where I was carrying the team. 98 kills and 6 boss kills at the beginning of round 5. The team was really struggling to kill the 3 Wardens after we killed 4 knights (god I hate those 7 boss rounds…). So I called in a Hannibal Scorpion to save the day. I took 2 Wardens out basically by myself, and we had 1 minute left. I had a perfect line of sight on the 3rd Warden and I was not blocking any paths. This toolbag in a Temple Wraith decides to ram me out of my spot, and throws me in front of the Warden. The Warden spams his face blast stun, and then starts attacking my Scorpion with his sword. He ends up destroying me, and then the Temple Wraith tries to run over the Warden and gets horribly destroyed. 20 seconds later, mission failed and Warden has like 5% health left.

That would work, but I always mute people because I can’t stand all of the little kids who just jump on, put their mic in and don’t say -Yoink-, but also let in all of the stupid background noise .

Apex 7 IMO should be taken out of the rotation for WZFF maps. It wasn’t designed for PvE, it was designed for PvP. I’ve died far too many times because the game decided to spawn enemies 5 feet behind me while I’m running to an objective, while I also don’t have any cover…
I also think that bosses and enemies you NEED to kill shouldn’t just hole up like -Yoink- in some impenetrable fortress like that middle zone on Darkstar.

I’ve gotten pretty used to the enemy spawns, but the Phantoms just chew me up on that map, especially the ones on the beach. Duck behind a rock to avoid five enemies moving toward you spamming shots, have 3 Phantoms blast you in the face. That first Round kill 80 Covenants is the worst. And to go off on a tangent, I don’t know why 2-4 teammates every game have to run inside to grab extra ammo or change their ARs as I never see them with vehicles. I just run in, grenade some enemies, magnum a few down, get blown up by a Phantom. Respawn, do the same. Once in a while get killed by a ground troop, usually a Jackal when I noticed a Phantom start shooting my direction. I usually finish top score and if somehow I don’t, I’m always top 3 and almost never live long enough to run out of ammo nor need a fancy scope on my AR.
Besides the 80 Covenant Round 1, the later round 25 Ghosts and however many Grunts can get bad too, but at least you can have a decent vehicle by that point. I just hate getting into a groove of dropping enemies only for a ship that I can’t combat just blast me in the face.

agree that some players just want to messup the game, bcause they suck at it.
apex is a very big map, i never win in that map, always get lost. i hate that map
on other hand if you see someone with an AR maybe is cause he hasnt req level to putout power weapons, not everyone is as good as you are.
when i cant take out big weapons or vehicles, (advice for casual players) protect scorpions from ground units while they take on the boss, kill the WATCHERS they are a pain in the a s s.
aside the matter i would like a map for WZ and WZFF in a covenant spaceship.

With the way 343i designed Covenant ship maps so far? No thank you. Truth is just retarded and the other crashed ship map is just mis-balanced

Unfortunately I agree. Even if they put something in there, there will be plenty of players who would ignore you anyways.
I understand your frustration OP. Sometimes you just get paired with players that don’t care and would rather peck off some grunts.
