I’ve started playing ranked arena after 2 years of not, and I’ve noticed I match a lot of champs in both slayer and elimination. Biggest is in elimination, where I am diamond one, and the guys I play with are diamond as well. We continually match 4 man champion teams, and it’s extremely hard to learn maps and strats when the other team clearly knows everything map-wise. They can easily be outshot by us, but we lost due to not being able to learn map.
All of us have high warzone MMR, and does this carry into arena??? My arena stats are bad, so it can’t be high in arena. If so, how is this remotely fair carrying warzone (which is so different from arena) MMR into arena? Matching a team of champs with 1000 elimination games on a map I’ve played 3x is not fun.
I think we have separate MMR standings for Arena and Warzone respectively, though I might be very wrong on this.

My thought was for my arena stats (plat level since I played as a noob so much) I’m getting very sweaty games, even in social (champ and onyx kids). About 90% of my games are in WZ, so idk
Warzone and Arena have separate MMRs. Also, remember, Champs = Onyx players. They’re just the top 200 Onyx players, so it is reasonable that you, as a Diamond player (1 tier below Onyx), could match Onyx/Champ players.

My point is, I shouldn’t be diamond one (in elimination), have another diamond 2 and two unranked, matching 3 champs and a diamond 4.

Then your title is incredibly misleading and off base.
This kind of question is better suited in the MM Feedback thread in MM.
Also, Elimination’s range of people you can match is wider than other playlists because skill seems to swing wider.

Also this. If you are Diamond, matching Onyx is absolutely reasonable.
