Warzone [matchmaking] Unbalanced

Why is Warzone matchmaking so unbalanced, 90% of games are either destroying a team or getting destroyed. There is barely any in between and it isn’t fun like when H5 launched. I imagine it’s a skill range problem, within a certain golden range most games are even and fun, but when you break that range you start getting unbalanced teams and games overall.

What can the team at 343 do to help this issue?

I think overall it has to do with skill set and communication. If they have both along with a good set of weapons, the team is gold. Even a team of solo players that have a good skill set and decent communication can win. But a premade fireteam can be even better, depending how strong the level of communication is, their skills, and where their req set is at.

The past 7 consecutive WZ games I have lost both armories within the first two minutes of the round, mind you we haven’t even taken out any bosses yet. On top of that, it doesn’t seem like the enemy team is capturing the monument anymore to prolong just duel capping instead of triple. This mis-match making issue is getting annoying. Fire teams should be placed against same number fire teams or more. Stop putting fire teams in singles lobbies.

But yeah, to reiterate, there’s something going on with the match making and its crushing the enjoyment I was having for a while.

Part of the problem is that everyone now has so many crazy REQs available to them. Yes, that doesn’t affect the game as much as the obvious skill gap problem early on, but any game that could have otherwise been close gets blown out of the water when tanks, Nornfangs, Banshee Ultras, etc. start rolling in. In the early days, any time someone dropped a BR, you’d run over to it to see if it was one you didn’t have. “OH MY GOD! This classic BR reticle is AWESOME!” Now there are literally a hundred different ways for anyone to kill you and you can’t possibly prepare to counter whatever they are bringing to the fight. Then throw armor mods on top of that…
Basically, even if the teams WERE evenly skill matched, which seems rare, one team will inherently be more willing to pull out more REQs. If the skill gap was zero, the team with the bigger guns would win. I doubt see the skill gaps fixed because 343 wants the solution to be “Well, just buy more REQ packs so you can use more power weapons to overcome the matchmaking bias.” Since it takes (on average) 5 regular Warzone games to earn a gold pack, there’s no way you can actually build up REQs faster than you burn them for top-tier weapons, especially since the gold packs STILL contain so many stupid uncommon/rare elements to them.

It being like that encourages people to team up and communicate in order to win. Thats a good thing in my opinion
