Warzone is literally terrible. It was advertised as a big epic 12v12 battle that was based on TEAMWORK. But 343 decided it was a good idea to have terrible spawns, a random REQ system that is based off of luck/how much money you shill for 343 etc. Also, it literally doesn’t matter how much damage you do to a boss in a match, if the enemy team gets ONE shot as the boss is about to die, they will get the kill. This is so ridiculous to the point where in one match, my team had THREE tanks shooting at the Warden “M’lady” Eternal, THREE. But somehow the enemy team gets a few shots in and that counts as them getting the kill. So Warzone isn’t based on skill or teamwork at all.
All in all.
Spawns are bad
REQ system is bad
Boss kill points should be DAMAGE based. Meaning if your team does 90% of the damage to a boss, your team should get 90% of the points. Simple.
I don’t seem to recall Warzone ever being advertised as based on skill or teamwork, the opposite in fact. Halo 5 is perhaps the most competitive halo game ever, which is perhaps partly because of a lack of a social playlist at launch. Warzone is supposed to be silly and fun, an outlet for players who don’t want to be super competitive - and the REQ system adds longevity to the mode, which should make it last until other social playlist are added.
And it doesn’t often matter how many REQs someone has, they won’t be able to use them consecutively because of the universal energy system. I don’t think I’ve ever felt hard done by a team simply because they had more REQ cards, so the balancing system 343i put in place to match teams based on REQs seems to be working.
As for the spawns and boss damage, im inclined to agree with you, but these things can both be changed - maybe you need to ask yourself if Warzone is really aimed at you.
Spawns are fine. Reqs are fine. This is a casual, non-ranked game mode. You’re over-thinking it.
And kill-stealing, while genuinely annoying, is a part of Halo and has been since ever. Why should now be any different?
A6ENT, I fail to see how REQS/Micro transactions add longevity to Warzone when you’re not really earning anything… It’s literally random. Also, did you not watch the trailers for Warzone? While yes Warzone isn’t a “competitive” game mode, the idea is to win, no matter how casual a game type is. I also STRONGLY disagree that Halo 5 is the most competitive Halo game ever when it’s own ranking system is completely glitched and random. That would go to Halo 3 since it’s skill ranking WORKED.
recon, stealing kills from your own team is different to THREE tanks doing damage to a boss and the other team getting the kill after a few pistol rounds or whatever.
The only part I agree with you on is the req system which can cause an unbalance when one team has players that have good luck with vehicles and weapons vs a team of players that simply don’t have any of those cards to use.

The randomness of REQs, whether you see it as positive or negative, does increase the longevity of the game type. People like to earn new toys to play around with, and this will keep people playing Warzone for that very reason, for better or worse. And even though some REQs are just slight alterations, there is some pretty drastically different stuff to unlock, like an ODST style pistol, Prophets Bane, and even a triple rocket launcher.
And yes, I did watch the trailer for Warzone, and yes, naturally winning is preferable, but in no way did it ever come across as anything other than a fun casual game type. Perhaps in the same way as a custom game; nice to win, but it’s really not everything.
I know the rankings are a little dodgy, but this game does feel more competitive than 3, and I played an absolute ton of that game. Not saying that’s great, because there’s loads of absolute sweats in H5, but that’s how I see things.
It’s the worst game type ever. Reason being is as the game progresses and players progress -Yoink- near everyone has 10 hannibal tanks and 25 one mantises. And they take it above and beyond and dominate the team. I just finished a war zone game and we got dominated cause everyone had a vehicle. Two mantises 1 tank 1 wraith 1 ultra wraith 1 banshee. I am a level 143 and my team were all level 120 and above and so was the other team. But while my team wanted gun to gun combat the other team wanted to lock down the north garage and spawn camp. And it leads to no fun and just and unfair amount of vehicles on the team. And for me the solution is since -Yoink- near everyone on the game is level 130 and above simply make a warzone with only load outs and armor mods and power ups.
Its a greath playlist man, is funny and you have matckmaking if you are competitive. I play both
I agree its a great playlist but spawns are terrible. Spawn near to my teamate in the midle of the map when enemies have Banshee, Wasp , Snipers etc and they kill me instant it is annoying. I would prefer to spawn only the bases we capture.
WARZONE ROCKS

Never seen 10 HT or 25 Mantises…
I’m disappointed in what Noctus has become, Damn Mantis bosses… also solo players matching full teams is annoying, randoms V randoms and teams V teams is how it should be.
- REQs are fine, but should be earned and not unlocked by random - Every other map is ok or good
I could swear this was a duplicate post… Warzone is fine BTW. An occasional bad spawn but fine
there should be more spwn points as they are a bit predictable
I like it for the most part. I’m more of an arena kind of guy but Warzone is okay I guess. I think they need to do something about spawn camping though. It’s especially bad if the enemy controls all bases and have you against the ropes.
They may need to work on the Req system a bit too. I’m afraid to use my really rare cards. I’ve died too many times after spawning with something good.
Maybe I’m crazy but I had an idea. How about making all cards permanent but also give them a cooldown? For example the Nornfang can only be used once every three days. If you’re instantly killed after spawning then you don’t lose your card but you still receive a punishment for death. I think this would keep folks with lots of money from abusing the Req system. It also makes those of us who don’t have much money (or almost none in my case) more likely to use our legendary cards. It also gives the cards a more collectable feel to them which I absolutely love (that’s why I never use a Req card if I only have one of them).
Again maybe I’m crazy but if I play a rare card in Yu-Gi-Oh! it doesn’t vanish. I’m just saying.
Also it would be too hard to do this in Halo 5 I’m sure. But I think it would be great for Halo 6.
Totally agree with were you spawn. Your so far away from the battle. If you use a turret it takes you like over a minute to walk to the battle. If your using a power up it is half gone by the time you get to the battle.
