Some people didn’t like Warzone in Halo 5 and I understand them, but I would really love a game where you could choose your weapon and your equipment at each spawn. I think there is a way to bring it in Halo Infinite in a good way:
1 No more killing bot to win point, bot present to defend zones or generators 2 No more Req pack or Req card, everybody have access to the same weapons and vehicules during the game 3 Everybody access to the same Req level at the same time, no more difference between good players and bad players. Equality first ! 4 Simplify the Req level to only 3 level : light weapons, medium weapons, heavy weapons. 5 No more than one weapon or vehicle of the same kind per team 6 Select your equipment before spawn.
Level 1 : drop wall and threat sensor
Level 2 : add repulsor and thruster pack
Level 3 : add overshield, active camo and grappleshot
I think that way it would be really cool to play. What do you think ?
I liked the idea of Warzone a lot. For the most part it was a lot of fun but I could not stand the req cards and the weird way you could only get certain weapons. I’d love to see it kind of set-up like Super Fiesta with the weapons.

I can’t see it being very interesting. literally everyone would choose grappleshot, no other equipment competes with it.

In this configuraiton, the grappleshot would be available only at the end of the game, with powerfull weaopn/vehicle/equipement, and I think a lot of people would whoose overshield or active camo instead of grappleshot
Warzone was a cool idea, I was excited to play it. Turns out I really didn’t enjoy it. I would prefer a richer Firefight experience (and no, not Warzone Firefight, that was firefight by name only).
warzone was a cool concept but the fact that if you had better cards you did better was such a scummy scheme. I like the idea of different weapon types but i never wanted to use my tarturus hammer becuz i had only 1! once i would use it it was gone until i got lucky in a pack. I still actually have it and will probably never use it. the req system needs a rework and my suggestion is that everyone has access to the variety of vehicles/weapons but for example tarturuss hammer cost 35 req points while a regular hammer is like 12.
You have three paths to victory- bosses, bases, and kills, and thousands of choices to achieve it. It would be a loss to the gaming landscape not to have it in Infinite.
Adding to some great points above, Warzone’s AI bosses would be a convenient way for 343i to insert cameos by familiar faces from past games. Warzone is a perfect place for otherwise out of place characters to appear and liven up the match.

I’m totally agree and that’s why I proposed a system where you don’t have card and where everybody have access to the same weapon/vehicle/equipment by game. In that way, you can use the hammer when he is available, that won’t impact the next game.
Just have it like Battlefront/many other games where you get points over time/bonus for objective, kills, assists etc and you can spend them on weapons/vehicles and the higher tier the higher price so you could buy like 5 BRs or 1 Sniper.
The longer the game goes on the more advanced weapons and vehicles become available.
Maybe even have a class system where you get different loadouts. Generally I’m against that in arena games but I think for Warzone could keep it more fresh. The whole thing is crazy random anyway.

I’m sorry dude but, Warzone was connect-four if anything.

That’s silly. I’ve played on low level smurfs and enjoyed it more than my account with everything unlocked. Warzone rewards intelligence and creativity. Sorry it wasn’t your thing.
Warzone was my favorite gametype in Halo 5. I’d be happy if something similar returned to Halo:Infinite
Given that there is no card based req system, one could do custom loadouts like in Halo 4 or set loadouts like in Halo: Reach.
One could also still use the req system, just with some tweaks. Everyone would have access to the sandbox, but it would still cost points to call in non-req weapons, vehicles, or powerups just like in the Halo 5 warzone. Of course, the sandbox would be much smaller as there wouldn’t be two, three, or four overpowered variants of each weapon or vehicle.
The point idea per how a player contributes to the match could work, gaining access to the higher tier equipment and vehicles as the game progresses and using that “currency” to choose what you wanted to bring to the field of conflict. Essentially Warzone all the way around except you don’t use banked req cards, everyone has access to everything it would just require you to spend points earned ingame.

That’s what I proposed at the begining at the discussion, maybe I didn’t explain it well enough : No req card, everybody have access to the same weapons, you can equip thoses weapon with the points you win during the game. More the game progress, more weapon are powerfull.
Warzone is a fantastic gamemode, and it’s currently my favorite one in Halo 5. Unfortunately, it was built around a REQ system which was subpar to say the least, but seeing what Infinite has done with its sandbox and BTB, I think it would a damn near perfect fit.
I like your suggestions OP, but I’d also propose more variety in zones to capture. Halo 5 has way too many identical garages/armories with the occasional deviant.

Yep it would be weird to bring back the garages/armories after all these years, they would have to imagine something else
I think a war zone style with no reqs at all! an armoury (looking like halo wars armoury) start would be better, you spawn in there and first come first serve. Grab a weapon off a rack and go!
Head outside there’s pelicans, worthogs etc outside, marine AI guard the base
weapon drops launch to random areas on the map and banished forces guard weapon caches ( could be downed pelicans/ frigates)

“First come first serve” means race beteen allied who finally fight themself. The principal difference between warzone and traditionnal game is to select weapon before spawn and not have to refind them on the map.
The bot (covenant, promethean or banished) are already guard weapon caches by using this weapon yan can use after killing them
