Warzone in halo infinite

So I thought of an idea on how warzone(if it returns) could work in halo infinite but without loot boxes.
To unlock weapons, vehicles, power ups and other items you have to complete warzone achievements for example: killing 400 jackals to unlock the beam rifle and then another 400 for the beam rifle alpha and so on.
The way that req levels work in h5 warzone should remain.
Reqs aren’t one-time-use. To avoid players with high level weapons vs players with low level weapons have skill based matchmaking.

Problems with this idea:
Warzone is a casual game mode not competitive
A significant amount of people don’t want the game mode to return in the first place.

Tbh I’d rather have a 20 v 20 mega btb instead but its just an idea
What are your thoughts on this?

Niaaa… I hope they ditch weapon variants all together frankly. Warzone can work - and imho would even work better - without that CoD like progression forced into Halo. I rather have a bigger weapon sandbox than. In any case I wanna earn PW that anyone can have in that very same match and only during that match. I’m sick and tiered of grinding and levelling for weapons, can’t stand it any more!

So the problem I see with that is the ‘burn card’ nature of most REQs. With the exception of loadout weapons, every card you earn is one time use, which I don’t really see working in an achievement based system since you’d need to be recurrently completing that same goal to keep earning a use of that weapon.

This wouldn’t be so bad for base versions, in the realm of say, 50 enemy kills to get a Beam Rifle, but then we escalate to your suggestion of 400 to get a special variant, which is fair enough, but that still carries the risk vs reward of that weapon being one time use when it could be taken from you very quickly. The frustration of losing a good weapon or vehicle without having a chance to use it is only multiplied when getting it was that much more difficult in the first place, now you have to kill 400 enemies again before that’s even an option.
Even if we ignore the specific enemy kill requirement (do 800 Jackals even spawn in a single match? Let alone expecting a single player to kill all of them), its a system that sounds far more frustrating than its worth.

Taking the ‘burn card’ or one-time-use system out, you then end up with the rich-get-richer scenario where high-level players are running around a PvPvE mode with top tier weapons and vehicles that they’re able to call in on every spawn with no fear of losing them. That doesn’t sound like a new-player-friendly experience to me.
I’d say that Warzone, in this manor, is inherently flawed, (and that’s not taking into account other issues like the bullet-sponge bosses) so ultimately I hope the mode isn’t in Infinite at all

My mistake I forgot to mention that reqs won’t be one-time-use, and skill based matchmaking.

But then the problem is that people play warzone for fun rather than competitively.

Here is how I see it “working” if it has to return at all.

You have all weapons at your disposal to begin with and power weapons are on the map and spawn in on timed intervals.
If you want “weapon variants”, then by using the weapon you want and getting kills with it, you gain attachments that you can then customize your personal weapon how you see fit. That is a CoD style weapon progression but for Warzone I don’t really care if that exists or not.

That’s a really cool idea, like a new twist on btb.

Like I say though, not being one-time-use doesn’t resolve the issue since players who have access to the higher tier weapons will usually dominate those who do not, stalling their progress towards better gear by either A. Hogging AI kills or B. Outright killing lower level players.
It wouldn’t be an intolerable system, Battlefront 2 gets by with its flawed progression based Star Cards, but it would still be making the game needlessly more frustrating for newer players in a game that’s marketing itself as a ‘great jumping on point’.
