I don’t know how this can be balanced or implemented but I’m sure this can happen. Join in progress is great, keeps the team updated and full roster at most times, but I’ve joined way to many games where I’m trapped and can’t do anything. My only concern that people will use it at first sight of losing. So the other team must have all bases and xxx lead on your team. Thoughts?
People most definitely would use “forfeit” at the first sign of something going wrong. What’s so wrong with JiP? Joining a game on the losing side is absolutely no different than being on the losing side of a game that you were in from the start. It’s pure ego to assume that if you had been there at the start then you’re team wouldn’t be losing.

… except for the part that it’s entirely possible. Joining a game on the losing side means that you lost that opportunity to be on top to begin with. Imagine if JIP was in arena and I told you that joining the losing team is justified because your loss was apparently predestined/inevitable. You’d call me a moron, and you’d be right to do so.

I literally just made a thread for my issue with JiP.
3 games I have used a high rarity boost that I’ve been holding onto until I’m ready to attempt it and 3 times I have joined a game just about to lose the game. How can you achieve 50% AI kills or assists when they are at your core with 100 points to go while your team only has 400.

The whole reason that JiP is in warzone and not in arena is because the playlists are completely different, have completely different purposes for existing, and work completely differently. If you’re grinding for rank in arena and lose it because some punk on your team decided to bail, well that’s one thing. It’s not right to JiP somebody into that slot who is trying to work up the same rank ladder. But warzone is a casual playlist. Wins and losses mean absolutely nothing other than to make you feel good or bad for 40 seconds while the game puts you back into the queue for another match. It’s just supposed to be fun. And if you get JiPed onto a team which is losing 215 to 540 and you can’t find something useful and fun to do on those mammoth maps with all those crazy -Yoink- weapons and targets then you’re just plain not trying. And you’re putting way too much emphasis on winning in the only social playlist this game has yet to offer. If you taking winning that seriously then you need to be in the arena.

This is Halo. -Yoink- happens. It always has happened and it always will happen. If you spend your time pulling your hair out because of it then you just don’t have a constitution that’s good for gaming. I’m not saying it’s right or that it’s fair or even that you need to suck it up and deal. I’m just saying that this is how this game works. It’s how life works. I don’t know if that little home truth will make you feel better or worse. God knows these games have been infuriating me with great regularity for fifteen years now. I guess that’s why I’ve developed my “and so it goes” attitude. If I hadn’t then I’d have died from a massive aneurysm years ago.

I’m not hating the game for this issue I got with it at all. Yeah it’s annoying but I enjoy the game play too much and it’s not really going to make a difference to me because I’ll just find another boost eventually. The only game play issues I can said I have personally are with spawning in SWAT and the radar but I can work with those. Overall I think they did a great job and the system definitely works better than that of the Destiny’s luck grinding system.

There should be a req refund if you fail a gambit while JIP’d.
That would make everyone happy!
If you pull the gambit/boost off, great! If not, have it back.

I object to the claim that warzone is a casual playlist if only because it requires a great deal of communication to succeed anywhere. Nonetheless, I ask you this simple question: is losing fun? Sure it means nothing, but do you join a match thinking to yourself “let’s get out there and lose!”? Social isn’t a place where wins and losses don’t matter in any sense of the term, it’s a place where wins and losses carry no consequences.
