I’m almost positive warzone has a loose hidden ranking system. In every previous halo the social gamemodes are usually a very mixed bag skill wise but always leaning to below average players. I think they have designed it so even in a social type playlist people get paired with their similar skill level. I hope this isn’t the same for every social playlist they release because sometimes its fun to just relax and 30 - 3 people. It gets very tiresome constantly be “trying” in everygame

lol it not ranks, it’s skill based match making they’ve been doing it since halo 2 its just gotten better. And why would anyone not want skill based matchmaking. because you feel likegetting easy wins lol thats kind of stupid lol.
hmmmm… both are convincing.
I’m pretty sure there isn’t anything based on ranks, BUT there is player matching based on the REQ cards that you have, so generally everyone has give or take the same weapons and items…considering that as you play you get more stuff, you could say maybe it is loosely a psuedo-ranking system…but not really, I don’t notice balancing too much anyway.
I think they said that it matches you by the amount of requisitions you have or something like that idk…

That kind of player matching would be brilliant, but it’s official or just a random assumption?
pretty sure its just random match up
Microsoft’s TrueSkill system is still the backbone of all Xbox games including Halo 5: Guardians’ matchmaking and it provides skill based matchmaking (SBMM) to the Warzone modes. Now, the search parameters are probably set to widen quicker (accepting a greater disparity of skills) than within Arena in order for matches that require 24 players to be found within reasonable times and the parameters will lack the game type refinement aspect that CSRs provide, but perhaps 343i have managed to factor in our Spartan Ranks (SRs) as part of the refinement search parameters for Warzone as those ranks are decent indicators of the types and quantities of REQ weapons people may have access to.
"…we do use a hidden MMR value to track and match players according to skill so that teams remain balanced." - Josh Holmes regarding SBMM in Warzone.

they match you with people that have about the same REQ items certified and unlocked. Now if you get a bunch of these items then of corse you are not going to have a likely chance to get paired up with someone that is just starting off the game
