Nearly every Warzone game I play is a blowout that is decided by 200 points or more. How can I, as a solo player, reduce that gap? It’s frustrating to leave a base and immediately get killed by 5 Phaetons and since I can’t get any kills when I’m always getting killed by people with higher level reqs, there’s no way for me to get high level reqs myself. How am I supposed to play these games and make my Warzone games more competitive?
I agree it’s very one sided but the only thing I think could sort it would be a solo playlist and keep the current one.
To be honest as long it doesn’t go over a 300 point lead it’s very possible to come back and win as the under dog but sadly people quit trying far too much at any sign of losing.
To come back from losing 300 or less all you need is to insure you have 2 bases and kill the last boss.
Your example sounds like it’s a team issue where the game is pretty much over by that point so there’s not really much you can do to try comeback to win.
At that point, I’d say it depends on how you wanna play. If you don’t want to keep dying over and over, then play defensively and try to get kills when they come into your base. If you wanna try and make plays, play stealthy and try to take out their vehicles or go for a base as a distraction and then go back to their stronghold while they’re split up to try and get some sneaky kills.
Idk when I did play warzone I never ran into this problem I always played PTFO with a br and smg at one of their points and got lvl 9 reqs 5 minutes in then grab the bayonet and help myself to whatever req the enemy team drops for me. Try that maybe?
I really don’t have that problem that often. But when I do I deal with it because not every game is gonna be a close win or loss.
I guess this issue doesn’t come up that often. I like Warzone a lot and I just wanted to know how to make my experience more enjoyable. Thanks!
The biggest issue is the lack of party size matching and poor skill matching. Even now with the limit, parties of 6 still destroy solo players. Often with their own six random teammates going extremely negative. The skill matching needs to be improved drastically in all playlists.
The other big issue is the inherent snowballing potential of Warzone. The team that gets the better start and maintains their momentum will destroy the other team for most of the game. They will continuously get higher level REQs and use those to increase their REQ level even further until they are 4+ levels ahead of the players on the other team. In long games the other team can sometimes catch up near the end, but it doesn’t normally make a difference in games where severe snowballing occurred.
I personally think that 343 should switch to team REQ levels instead of individual REQ levels. Individual levels encourage selfish gameplay as everyone only cares about increasing their own REQ level. Some objectives like bosses and base captures help everyone, but the rest of the time the best players are going to be off on their own trying to increase their level because they can’t get out the big guns if they don’t concentrate on their own performance.
With a team REQ level everyone would be contributing with all their actions and the worst players on each team wouldn’t automatically get left behind the best players on both teams. 343 would also be able to implement other changes regarding REQ levels easier as they would only need to manage the overall level of each team throughout a match. Team REQ levels would encourage teamwork as the team that slayed better with less overall deaths would gain the lead in terms of REQ level. Players would also feel they could contribute by guarding bases more without feeling like their REQ level was going to suffer by not being at the front of the push or going after every boss.
The second part of this would be the implementation of a REQ rubberbanding system. Say one team gets to level 6 and the other is at 3, once the better team leveled up to 7 the enemy team would automatically gain a level to remain within 3 levels. This could be adjusted to other level margins as well if that worked better. The outcome of this would be that teams would need to push their advantage quickly. The team spawning a bunch of Banshees or Wasps would want to push for a triple cap and core as quickly as possible. If they just sat there and farmed kills, they would be directly helping the enemy team level up within a certain margin. Get your Banshee and help your team push quickly or the other team will level with you and get to the strong anti-air REQs.
youre playing a social playlist. i dont get how so many people dont realise this
Disagree with never. Sometimes they really are, definitely not always but they can be. You can also play really well and get a lot of kills despite your team losing.

Until they fix the matching system where u actually get matched with random people instead of actual teams then it will never be balanced
You really shouldn’t be going to warzone to look for competitive gameplay. It’s the most social mode in the whole game and any mode that’s as random and reliant on luck as warzone is shouldn’t be competitive.
I played 10 games tonight as a random went 1 for 9 with a average of 15 kills and a couple with 30 to 40 kills Lol. Everytime I was on the short team or got jip on a loser team. (It’s weird why don’t u ever join the winning team lol) I am not surprised people get frustrated and quit as I have started doing it to after a triple cap if I don’t have boost on.
I think the games are to long so a lot of people end up quiting for various reasons. I dont have the answers but maybe try 750 points games. All I know is the snow and cold cant go away soon enough so I can quit playing.
Once lost a Warzone game 999 vs 1,000. I wasn’t even mad. Everyone on both teams with mic’s on laughed.
But i feel that in the past month or two the games have become one sided. I think the strong warzone players have learned the power positions on each map now and fireteams of players pull out a Wasp at lvl 3 one by one to beat the other team into submission.
Also the ping to warzone seems to be exaggerated, likely due to the large number of players. I regularly suffer from dying through walls nearly half a second after i make it to cover.
I guess in short:
- it used to be fun but has now become less so
- the gameplay is fundamentally flawed
- there is nothing that can be done about it
The changes suggested above are well thought out but what is being described is so vastly different its almost a new style of multiplayer completely.
On a final note, i would scrap flying vehicles completely if given the choice or at least strip them back. Wasp at level three is frustrating as people have farmed that REQ, Ultra Banshee is an unstoppable killing machine and Phaeton laughs in the face of Spartan laser as it kills you before it can even charge. sigh

So when do you start working at 343 again?
(But yeah seriously when do you start?)

I think he meant that teams are so unevenly matched that its more like one team is just there as a victim just waiting to be bent over than a competitor
It’s a mixed bag. I still enjoy playing it. The games have become much more competitive with the cap in place. I lone wolf it, unless I get invited to join a fireteam, which is rare.
Active camo? Plasma pistols? Spartan lasers? I agree warzone is a tad one-sided. However number one problem I see when I play is people quitting, In the last 3 games at least 4+ people have quit.
wz is not intended to be competitive. Also since the removal of 12 man teams the point gaps got a lot smaller imo.

I’ve drawn games in Warzone - those are easily the best. The 999-1000s are lit also. I concur that the standard of games have become more onsided. I don’t understand why 343i are determined to stick with 3 capture points. I for one would like 4, imagine the slug fest?
Achilese Grinders and early quitters are seemingly damaging the games playability. If you lose half your team, I don’t see why it would be too hard to implement a system where the reduced team get faster REQ points to try and balance the game out. Unfortuantey we’re talking about sensible changes to a game which hasn’t killed of Palmer yet.
Here’s a thought go in with a team stop trying to lone wolf it it’s a team game for God’s sake solo players ruined WZ
