My two cents on the matter: First of all warzone is not meant to be played “solo”. Keep in mind It was created to succeed Big Team Battle, which has become the second largest PVP game type since the release of Halo 5. Since previous halos, BTB has been a well known playlist for “partying up” with the intention to win. So its kind of understandable that some of the competitiveness would rub off on its spiritual successor. But despite that, there are certain aspects to WZ that allow itself to be considered a social playlist. One of the examples being that there are no bronze, silver, gold, etc. ranking system. So it is only natural that gaming ideals become conflicted when different players search on the same playlist.
I believe the solution to the farming issue is to not treat Warzone as a solo game from now on. (And you don’t have to be a try hard for this) If you wish to help prevent farming and would like to put up a fair fight, invite some of the people you get teamed up with to a party chat and help one another towards the objectives. Communication is key. No matter what game you play. And no matter what game or system, unfortunately, farming is an inevitability and is somewhat difficult for gaming developers to remove or fix because it is technically a part of human nature, or human competitiveness. But we should recognize discussion itself should not be set aside for the important purposes of critique and improvements (and not random venting). And that is why communication is key!
you don’t need communication to have common sense. i’ve been playing solo for the majority of my halo 5 career and have not had as many issues as people seem to be having.
Warzone can be solo too. Btb was fun though
So the hyper-competitive 4man slayer sweatfests are not meant to be played solo AND 12 player team unranked mode is not supposed to be played solo? Where can the solo players go?
Disagree with OP. If arena is the ranked team mode, then warzone must be the casual solo mode.
It shouldn’t matter if you play solo or with a full team in war zone or any other Halo playlist if the skill matching system was working matches would be more equal and have more fun, you shouldn’t have to run with a full team to have success in any of the playlist and have fun at Halo.
I still think there should be a system where solo players only play solo players and teams vs teams only.

With the release of the Memories of Reach update, the skill gap in playlists should be more narrow now and fair. I’m not saying you can’t play warzone solo, I’m just saying that’s not the intention of the playlist. Have you checked out FFA Swat, btw?

I agree. A lot of players go into warzone without much of a direction sense. My stance on the matter is that when players can’t agree on whether to go for certain objectives in game and efforts become wasted. Which is why I think communication is important.

Imo the weekly flavor playlists like Team Fiesta and FFA Swat are more casual. As well with the introduction of Infection in the current update.
