I loved the original firefight game modes but the new one has so many problems. First are the enemies, they have a lot of health and do almost instakill damage. This wouldn’t be as bad if we didn’t have the second problem which is the respawn timer. It takes 30 seconds on the final round meaning if you die from the powerful enemies you have to wait whilst either your team kills the bosses and you get less points or they are also dying to the enemy so you lose the game. We should have to wait so long just to respawn and pretty much die straight away again. Another problem was in a recent match. I got a anti air wraith so I went to test it out, first I had to travel across the whole map to get to the bosses and then my wraith got hijacked before I killed or even damaged a boss. Next problem is the defend objectives. They are normally on the other side of the map and lose health really quickly from the start. There should be a delay to the enemy spawn until at least one player is within a certain distance to the objective or it spawns closer to players. Because of this before in a game we lost pretty much instantly because everyone was on the other side of the map and the enemies destroyed the objective before many of us made it there. I hope that there could be an update to fix the problems I listed and the other ones players are facing.
Hey man.
I was a huge fan of the original Firefight modes too and to be perfectly honest, Warzone Firefight’s name is kind of misleading given what Firefight was in the past. It’s a whole different beast.
To address your problems though, one by one:
First off - what difficulty are you playing on? Legendary without a doubt it the most punishing and unfair thing in Halo 5 and I’d highly recommend just not playing it and instead play Heroic. The enemies do less damage, die faster, have lower accuracy and less awareness. The only downside is the lower XP & RP payout but considering how less frustrating it is and how faster the games go, it almost makes up for it.
Second - the respawn timer does suck, yeah. In previous iterations of Firefight, you weren’t out of the action for long. Nothing is worse than having to sit out and watching the timer tick down knowing you’d be doing some serious damage if you didn’t die. At this point, I don’t expect it to change but if you switch to Heroic and play a little smarter with your choices during Round 5, it shouldn’t be too big of a problem.
Thirdly - vehicle spawn locations are frustrating but the good news is you can (most times) control where your vehicle spawns. Lets use Escape from A.R.C. as an example. If you use a REQ station at Garage, your vehicle should spawn from there. If you do it off the respawn screen, it will likely spawn you back at the home base, forcing you to huff it a little. As for your vehicles getting destroyed fast - try using the Wheelman armour mod if you’ve unlocked it, it increases your vehicle resistance and will let it sustain a lot more fire. And like I said above, switch to Heroic so enemies aren’t melting you immediately.
Lastly - this has been been a common complaint since the mode came out over a year ago. Sadly the complaints have mostly been ignored and you just have to put up with it. While enemies may spawn close to the objective and do damage to it, you will always have enough time to get there and kill the enemies attacking the objective. If you’re failing here, your team simply wasn’t good enough. It shouldn’t have taken all eight players that long to get to the objective.

I do wish Warzone Firefight got a revamp to be a lot more fair but with support dwindling down and the only future updates seemingly being bug fixes and playlist updates, I’m not expecting it.
First of all, use paragraphs if you have a lot to type. And you’re right, it may feel like the enemies have lots of health and do lots of damage, but as was mentioned, playing on Heroic is pretty much the solution for that. The long respawn timer is kind of annoying, but you’ll get used to it. It’s not nearly as annoying as the fact that Promethean soldiers and Elites can hijack your vehicles and don’t even get me started on those invulnerable Phantom gunners…
I think a bigger problem than anything you mentioned is actually the relative uselessness of power weapons compared to vehicles, in Warzone Firefight. But I would say that’s more of a problem with req packs.

Don’t like heroic due to smaller rewards, when I play legendary it tends to give gold packs. However I haven’t played heroic much so I don’t know if it gives gold packs as rewards.

The gold packs you receive are part of the commendations that were rolled out with the release of WZFF. You can check your commendations progress to see how close you are to certain WZFF rewards and how to get them. Note that once you complete your WZFF commendations, you won’t get Gold Packs as rewards anymore.
I’m surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that, unlike the original firefight, in this version you’re forced to play as part of a team. Why are the enemies so ridiculously over-powered? Because there isn’t just one spartan on the field. There aren’t even four. There are eight. Seven additional players to steal my kills, joy ride in my vehicles, and just generally suck 97% of the fun out of what used to be one the best parts of Halo.
343: Make a WZFF variant for a single player, all reqs unlocked, timer disabled, user adjustable difficulty. It really is that easy.
Ya… Warzone Firefight is actually really different from regular Firefight! I will say that I think Warzone Firefight is really unfair! This is why I can’t wait for Halo 3 ODST to become backwards compatible! In my opinion Halo 3 ODST had the best Firefight, minus the custom options that Halo Reach had.

Sorry about the paragraphs thing, I swear I separated parts out though
The spawns in this entire game are horrendous.

I have to agree. The defense objectives can be relentless and unfair. If everyone gives their best, you stand a fair chance, but even then, it’s a gamble.
I hate the long respawn times too, but in a way, it makes sense: The point is to punish you for dying and encourages you to stay alive for as long as possible. This can be a good and a bad thing.
At any rate, I prefer the old style of firefight where you just have to fight off waves of increasing grunts and elites. NO BOSSES. ODST and Reach had it right.
I like current warzone firefight, but I wish that they would decrease the time on the respawn timer and add some new maps.
The spawn points could be better as well

None of the Warzone Firefight gametypes give directly Gold Pack rewards. It’s when you complete the commendations that will award you those stupid … RNG Gold Packs.
I can both play Legendary and Heroic Warzone Firefight and the best power is knowledge. I have started to learn how to beat some key waves deathless without having to spend single use cards.

I agree with you. I think that the respawn time is ok because it increases the difficulty and it makes you play smart instead of just running and shootimg at enemies.
On the other hand i think they need to fix the spawns: most of the times the game makes you respaw really far away from your target, so you have to waste time to get there.
I agree with you about the fact that most of the power weapons are useless in WZF, even the ones that are powerful in normal WZ (blood of suban, snipers, blaze of glory…). In my opinion they should make them more effective. This will be a good way to make this gamemode more strategic, because right now you need only to req some scorpion if you want to win.

The Power Weapons are nearly useless because of the fact that the ammo supply is very limited. Most of the Power Weapons don’t even have enough ammo to kill 3-4 more powerful targets which is a true shame. I have also a done a spreadsheet with all the weapon ammo caps and that shows how bad it’s.
My Weapon setup for the following req levels follows like this.

They really need to address their spawn zones and health. As CuriousGalaxy91 said the power weapons are worthless unless it’s an explosive or Plasma Pistol for vehicles. With the low ammo the power weapons have in WZ FF it really isn’t worth using any. Vehicles are the only REQs worth using, especially because of how insanely powerful the Banshee and Phaeton are in H5.
The spawn timer is ok, it pushes ya to play smarter so that yer team will have a full force to fight with rather than only 3 people alive cuz everyone else tried to pull off a Rambo charge.

Well, in my opinion ammo capacity is not the true problem of power weapons. You cant increase ammo capacity of reqs because then they will be too OP in normal WZ. It will be fine if they just make power weapons more effective against AI:
If you can kill a knight with 2 laser spartan beams, you dont need a laser with 150% energy instead of 100%. This is the same thing for others reqs.
Of course right now you need to req more than a power weapons to kill a boss, not because you dont have enough ammo but because weapons are just too weak.
