Warzone Firefight

With Warzone Firefight being an upcoming release, I’ve been thinking about how this game type will be unique to the Halo 5 experience and how it will differ from the two previous versions of Firefight.

  • With the title of Warzone Firefight, this leads me to believe that we will have some sort of base capturing and holding objectives while defending against massive waves of enemies. - There will most likely be a timer on the game mode and will not be endless like the others could be. - REQs will still be used, but will probably be limited to balance out game play. - Maybe specific objectives such as taking out an enemy boss or assassinating a enemy leader. That’s all I can come up with, let me know what you guys think!

If its not endless its not warzone

Or it could be just like Firefight in Halo reach. I would not jump to concussions so fast

Free for all scoring, players compete to get the highest score.

If that’s how it’s done, a way to balance out boss-stealing would be necessary. Perhaps dividing scores on bosses as follows:

Player 1 does majority of damage, player 2 lands the kill shot.

Player 1 gets a “strong assist” and half a kill bonus. Strong assist gets you the percentage of total points for a boss kill (if you do 95% damage to a boss, you get 95/100 points) plus an extra bonus (25 points, if a boss kill bonus is 50 points).

Player 2 gets a “weak kill” and 5 points (percent damage) plus half a kill bonus (25 points).

In the above situation, the simplest, player 1 gets 120 points while player 2 gets 30 points. Of course, with many players dealing damage on a single boss, things get more complicated than that, but that’s the basic formula I think could work.

Balance? How? You play against AI with Teammates in firefight. I dont think the Grunts are gonna be complaining on the forums for nerfs on the magnum and other guns.

i think it would be nice to see it like the odst firefight defend a stronghold try to survive with limited lives. 12 man group massive complex tons of enemies

and maybe have pelicans come down at the end say 2 mins till end of match and youve got to make it to the pelican to escape and get a bonus at the end

would be nice to see a flood gametype with this incorporated in it

Every WarZone game ends, what are you talking about?

Maybe you have to take the bases from the AI enemies? Then defend them. Ofc there would be way more ai with reinforcements and a boss at each base.

You cant have 12 guys running around Escape from A.R.C on gungeese/gungooses and ONI Hogs blowin everything to bits. Of course gunplay would remain the same, no grunts on the forum, duh. What I mean by balance is in the term of actually being a challenge, not some 2 minute blow through.
