Warzone “firefight” they call it, I cannot see how this thing could even be slightly called firefight its 5 rounds of doing an objective each round, fail the objective instead of hey maybe the next round will be harder you just flat out lose, and the amount of damage the AI does, HOLY SH*T its an unholy amount, try to fight 2-4 enemies at once like you can in campaign (easy-heroic ((maybe legendary if your good)) your done for unless you have a AoE wep even then you may end up dying anyway, the difficulty for firefight makes new players have no way in hell to win, UNLESS they have a good team a group of new players from everything I’v seen won’t last long
for people who think firefight has been like this all along it hasn’t here are the differences between halo 5 “firefight”
and the other firefights
you can choose the difficulties in the other games don’t think you a AAA player? play on easy or normal firefight think your a good player try heroic or legendary, halo 5 nope your stuck with legendary like game play
in the others you can alter the waves wanna have a gruntpocalypse or a hunterpocalypse (<-- good god) you can set it up halo 5 you get what about 7-8 scenarios to try and beat
its just waves of every increasing difficulties in the other halo’s halo 5, 5 rounds, beat em? good for you, you probably got 2-3 req packs
so in conclusion it isn’t halo 5 warzone firefight, its halo 5 warzone try and survive these 5 scenarios
if you believe this “firefight” is good please let me know I really do wanna know
[L i t e r a l l y m e] It’s totally broken
I like it, but I liked ODST’s and Reach’s firefight more.
The 30-second death penalty in Round 5 feels more ‘artificial’ and tacked on than an actual increase in difficulty you’d get from Skull modifiers over time, and while the objectives are entertaining (Though some of them are sooooo unbalanced…) there really should be a Lives system in place, and then the REQs… Vehicles truly dominate Firefight and they’re literally all you should be using for Round 4 and 5 and are things that new players probably do not have.
You couldn’t really pick and choose settings in Reach’s firefight matchmaking, so there’s not much difference there - except for the solo bit. We can’t play FF solo anymore.
All that said though, yeah - I would say it’s good. It can use some more tweaking, a lot more can be added, but it’s good. Not GREAT or spectacular, just “good”.
I wish they would at least add 50 or 60 more seconds to the time limits then it would be so much easier.
I mean… it isn’t called Firefight… it’s called Warzone Firefight. Not that I like the mode. Been trying to avoid it since finishing the commendations.

The final round should 1-2 minutes longer (especially the ones with bosses in the base). I think the rest are OK.
Firefight is definitely not all that great compared to the past firefights. I wish that with this firefight there was more variation and instead of the longer and longer respawn time we had a lives counter. And like I wish we could have a more structured way to play instead of in rounds 4 and 5 you had to have a vehicle or your screwed mind set.

Yeah now that I think of it I rather that happen.

100% on.
They should remove that stupid death penalty and only odd a 10 second respawn delay.

Or give you a time bonus when you complete an objective on anti-boss waves. And for the protect X waves you get extra time per enemy kill.

One minute would be all we need to take out Mythic Warden on March on Stormbreak. I find Attack on Sanctum to be the easiest map in general. The final rounds are generally pretty easy.
It’s easy now, but only if you have a ton of powerful reqs. I clear over 100 kills every single game with a high of 163 kills (proof). I admit it’s probably a nightmare if you don’t have a ton of high powered reqs though. Even so, not enough people concentrate on headshots and spray autos when they need precision with pistols and BRs in the early rounds.
was kinda surprised that no one talked about the damage the AI does but then again reading over these replies, I do agree that warzone firefight is a lot easier with high range REQs
Well judging on the title and the skimm through your post you’re right it shouldnt be called firefight it should be called Hannibal tank simulator.or something could someone summ up what he said.
When I play Warzone firefight, it feels like I’m playing Halo 2 campaign, and I’m surrounded by brutes, and I’m armed solely with a plasma pistol: the battery runs out, and he’s still not dead…

There’s your problem. If you want to be effective in WZFF, don’t call in weapons, call in vehicles, as a general rule.

I think it’s pretty good, though not perfect
Not having fought in previous firefights, I find the one in Halo 5 pretty exciting.
I do agree with most comments however. It could bave been far more enjoyable and flexible.
I like Warzone Firefight but it does need balancing, you are to reliant on vehicles in the latter rounds. I would like to see the addition of traditional Firefight added as an alternative mode, either in Halo 5 or Halo 6.
Personally I’m fine with playing WZFF. That being said however, it’s problems are quite noticeable. Mainly the insanely difficult AI and having to use tanks constantly to win the final round are extremely frustrating to some people. Both of these things might not seem like a problem for players with a decently high rank, but for those players that don’t have everything unlocked and are struggling to even keep 1-2 spare tanks lying around in ther req storage due to how much pressure is put on the player for not spawning in a high end vehicle?
Yeah, that’s a problem…
