Warzone Firefight Turbo

This topic has already been discussed but it would really be awesome to have a Warzone Firefight Turbo option come around when they did Warzone Turbo. I think if they took out the goal of “winning” and made it to be a more “casual” gametype where we could just mess with our well earned REQ’s I think that would be awesome. Maybe feature some really tough bosses here and there and possibly remove the ever rising respawn time? I’d love it. Thoughts? I know the goal is to beat the enemy before the time is up but sometimes I’d rather have it where we duke it out with the remaining enemies until the last one drops like in Reach.

This would be super fun, especially a turbo mythic firefight. At this point myself and many others have lots of REQs to spend so I think it’s a great idea.

I would like this if they turned on mythic skull for all 5 rounds to compensate for players having access to powerful reqs.

Ya know, I used to be against Warzone Firefight Turbo because I thought it was super dumb to start the game with access to your best REQs, making it way too easy to win. But after some thought about the way I personally tackle Warzone Firefight, I’ve come around to the idea. I hardly use any REQs anyway aside from the occasional vehicle, so a WZFF Turbo where all my teammates can get their best stuff to start… Well, I can do even less than I normally do in Legendary WZFF, piggyback off the “hard” work of my teammates, and reap all the rewards.

So yes, I am now here for this. Let’s make it happen!

I don’t understand why they haven’t made Firefight Turbo a thing yet. It’s a win-win for 343i and the players. Players get to use good weapons from the beginning which means more fun and significantly less frustration. Many players will burn through REQs real quick which means increased revenue for 343i from that casino they built in to the game.

I’m in…with a few modifications and a couple of play modes to make it challenging. First, no vehicles available until the either the fourth or fifth rounds. There are plenty of high powered weapons that can take down bosses at any time with REQ levels recharging quickly to 9. Second, if you choose the option to include vehicle use in all rounds, you need to turn on a few skulls to balance the power; as is done in Mythic Firefight. Turn on for instance: Tough Luck - Enemies berserk, always dive, and never flee; Catch - Enemies are grenade happy; Thunderstorm - Enemy abilities upgraded; Mythic - Increased enemy health; and Tilt - Enemy resistances/weaknesses enhanced. If one does not balance game play, matches will end in less than ten minutes each easily and you should not receive high compensation for such an easy road. The current Heroic and Legendary game modes are already too easy at 95-99 out of a 100-game win rate; and Mythic around 75% for our small group (usually 2-4 people). Our small group currently only participates in Mythic Warzone Firefight when we have 5 or more in the group so we can focus fire in order to have a better chance of winning. The only skulls in Mythic FF that I do not care for, but it makes the game play, is the Black Eye - Shields do not recharge until you melee enemies. Not a fan, but would accept it being in Warzone Firefight Turbo, because I could go and retrieve an Overshield requisition to regain my shield. Balance is the key to game play.

Hold on, why would Warzone Firefight Turbo need to be challenging? Not being challenging is not the same as not being fun. If people want challenging firefight, there’s already Legendary and Mythic. But with Heroic being by far the most popular version of Warzone Firefight, it doesn’t seem like most players are particularly interesting in it being a challenge.

In a game type where you start out with your best REQs, it would seem like a monumental waste of said best REQs if a proposed WZFF Turbo isn’t gonna be any more difficult than Heroic Firefight. At the very least, the enemies would have to be even more bullet-spongey than they already are just so I can feel like I’m getting some use out of my ONI or Hannibal whatever. Because, you know, EVERYONE’s gonna have their ONI or Hannibal whatever out too.

You’re right on the bullet spongy part. This isn’t Destiny after all. Also I wouldn’t fancy seeing everybody rolling around in Hannibal/ONI varients crushing everything before I could get to it. Possibly just spawn more enemies rather than buff them up? Really my goal out of this would be to make spawning weapons like the sniper rifle or shotgun relevant again. You ever try to spawn one of those in firefight it’s a colossal waste of time with the trips you make back to the req station for ammo if you even have enough points to get some in the first place!

Putting aside our sorrow. Another idea would be to restrict the usage down to the default variant of all weapons and vehicles for a “Heroic” mode then turn it all on for “Mythic” My greatest times spent in Warzone Firefight are when there are just hordes of enemies coming and everyone’s using basic weapons to engage. I play mostly heroic firefight and usually restrict myself to just using loadout weapons to simulate that feeling. As I’ve done that though I’ve really wished I could add the SAW, Sniper, or Shotgun to my arsenal whilst running around killing bad guys and still have enough ammo to really play with.

Overall my goal is to have a new mode created where we can shoot bad guys all day long with a bigger arsenal of weapons to play with along with no ever extending respawn time.

(Also take the Scout warthog out it only serves people wanting to take all the fun away from others.)

Maybe it would work in Mythic, but anything else will be too easy. I also don’t think it would be that fun unless they removed or extended the round time limits since people will kill everything a lot faster.

Really I’d love it if they took the “time” out of the rounds and made it until the last enemy dropped. Make it more casual. No race to kill everything but just take our time. And spawn massive amounts of units to kill. Throw in some tough bosses and you got a party. I hate the increased respawn time I know it’s to add an edge to make the round more competitive but I want a mode where I can just play without consequence. and use my reqs while doing it

Maybe, though personally I wouldn’t mind calling in a Hannibal Mantis just to use it against armies of grunts. But that’s just me :joy: I also like OP’s idea of having more enemies rather than making them more bullet-spongy. Then it would be kind of like Halo Reach’s crazy firefight (which was fun but never seemed particularly challenging), except with vehicles. Then just get rid of the respawn timer, add the IWHBYD skull, and I’d play the hell out of that
