Warzone Firefight too easy unless...

1: Get rid of the Timer. Knowing how easy it is to call a level 3 Oni Warthog will dominate the whole game and thr timer will never run out. Get the lives instead so people will actually have a risk of running into the fight with a chance of losing. But dont add both lives and timer, you will just bring pressure to the player.

2: Get enemies moving around the map. I can call in a tank and destroy everything from a distance with barely any shots on me. Other firefight had enemies swarming at you no matter where you camped. So in Warzone firefight, let the enemies chase you down too instead of doing some tank sniping.

3: Rounds are too short. Prob in final version it will be like 10-15 rounds (or not) but it needs to be the classic waves. Do the same 1-5 waves then round 2, 1-5 waves then round 3 and continue. Adding the lives will support it even more fun and stressful at the same time.

4: Get better AI spawning. The enemies shouldnt just be spawning right next to each other or by the target. It should be spawning more tactical like enemy. Ex, Wraiths spawn by the blue and red base and just mortar fire from there. Or regular hunters spawn in the middle of the tunnel to block vehicles. Or soldier snipers on the garage roof. Just spamming the AI spawns everywhere can be boring and doing the spawn strategically will support teamwork on players too.

5: Get better objectives. I dont want every objective to be “Target this” kind. To make it more fun, it needs better objectives like “defending a garage” or “extract the ball to this location” kind of objectives. Because killing 100 crawlers is boring… Worse if you just spam them.

There are more but I havnt seen the mode enough to think itnif should change for the better. But Warzone fireifght now is too different from the original. Still fun… But too easy also.

I think Odst firefight and gears 3 horde mode got it right, just copy what they’ve done best and result would be = WIN

Check out my long list of suggestion on the discussion page!

After playing a few matches of Firefight, I have a lot to cover:

Gameplay:
Warzone Firefight, in its current state, feels more like a Spartan Ops mission. Instead of going through seasons of Spartan Ops, mechanics and objectives are simply randomized into the match. Warzone Firefight is more like Warzone Spartan Ops. For the full release of Firefight, I would recommend making the game feel more like Firefight, more like a survival mode. Insert lives back into the game, remove the timer, and bring back limitless rounds. A simple way to adjust RP earnings for limitless rounds would to base the RP earned on performance and time in the game. Sure this would require much more coding for the AI, but i don’t think its too far fetched, since Warzone Firefight doesn’t fully release until a few months from now.

Difficulty:
At its current state, Warzone Firefight is too easy. Almost every match, I call in no reqs and we still win each time with 2 or more minutes to spare. Possibly adding skull combinations into rounds would help. Maybe more aggressive AI, could help increase difficulty as well.

Reqs:
The req system works beautifully inside Warzone Firefight. The only recommendation I have in terms of reqs, is to add more req stations through out the maps. It is a hassel to get to one in the short amount of time of the intermission.

Intermission:
With only a limited amount of req stations on the map, I is a hassle to get to one and call in a card before the intermission is over. Maybe adding 5 seconds would be a good idea.

Time Limit:
As I stated previously, the time limit should be replaced with a life system.

Rounds:
5 rounds is simply not enough. I feel like I blow through each game. Its not challenging in the slightest. Warzone Firefight has always been a go to game for the casual players. I was always about how long can you survive. This is what made Firefight fun and different, not the current setup.

Players:
8 players is a great amount. However, since the Warzone Firefight is too easy, this might have to shrink to 6 players. This is not what I would recommend, though. Trey other ways to increase the difficulty. I have listed a few ideas that might help.

Carnage Report/In Game Stats:
Deaths and assists should be added to the In Game Stats as well as the carnage report. Assist should also include wheelman assist as well to support drivers.

Additions:
I’ve always believed the buddy system, or Reach system of spawn of players, would work wonders in Warzone. Warzone Firefight is no exception. This should be added to the game. Skulls are another thing that could make the matches more challenging a give them more variety.

Dynamic Challenges/Boasts:
Along with my suggestion of making Warzone Firefight more like a survival game, dynamic challenges and Boasts could still have a place. Instead of a requirement, dynamic challenges should be looked at as optional. Completing this task during a round would grant players with a boast. For example: During a round, a dynamic challenge could be to kill a certain solider in a certain time limit before he disappears. Doing so could grant a damage boast for the next round.

Good stuff OP, be sure to add it to this thread, thanks.

I think no timer and lives would make people burn through REQ’s too fast. They’d feel like they need the extra fire power to survive and would hide away from the fight to survive long enough to let the REQ level up. I like the timer, I just think even if you kill 100 crawlers the round shouldn’t end until the time is up vs cut short. Just have them get a little more aggressive at that point. Some enemies moved around for me and chased us, others defended a point where they were dropped. It was odd but I think it was balanced. Rounds did seem short, and the later rounds were too easy if that sounds weird. Defending the garage was chaos at level 3. Level 4 was a cake walk. Level 5 I didn’t die once. I want inviso elites that can sprint and jackels with a speed boost. Aggressive promethians that hunt you down in rounds 4 and 5. Other objectives i’d like would be kill 200 grunts and have grunts only come and attack the garage. Waves of them, and aggressive ones that run at you with grenades. I want endless piles of bullet sponges that suck your REQ’s dry and take some spartans down with them.

NOTE: Already posted on the official thread. Was just adding to the OP.

Fireflight is completely boring…

The only mission that had a little “challenge” is defense the garage.
But, if you req a Warthog/Ghost or any vehicle to make sure those soldier can not kill you by one splinter grenade, and go to the access point at the second floor…It would be an extremely easy mission… You can just wait there and let your teammates kill 100 enemy…

In my opinion, the only way to make the Fireflight has some challenge is stop letting Spartans respawn.
If you get take down, you will have about 15 seconds for your teammates to aid you, just like the campaign. If you are totally “wasted”, then, you are dead and can only watch and pray for your teammates can finish the job until the next intermission count down start.

NO… never add a certain number of lives… as soon as a player runs out I guarantee they quit out of the game.

It’s very easy right now.
Hoped into my first game and only spawned a plasma pistol to steal vehicles and we completed the five waves with ease. (Searched as a random)

Each game I’ve played so far have been on the nose trying to kill the last boss as the timer is about to run out but it was bugged in one game I lost even though the last boss was defeated.
