Warzone Firefight Tips

I don’t know if someone else has made a thread like this yet, but these are some things I’ve come across that can help make you a bit more efficient at WWFF, or at least ease some of the issues in WWFF. I will only cover the things I’ve discovered while playing. So if you have any tips, please feel free to share them here.

INTERMISSIONS
It’s a good idea to be on respawn during intermissions. you can avoid the next rounds objective spawning on the other half of a map. This is very useful in the defending objectives, especially when it’s the prometheans.

•Also when you die in this period you only wait 10 seconds, which gives you enough time to decide how to adjust for the next round. Just remember don’t respawn until the the next objective starts.

ENEMIES
Knights - shoot one of the knights shoulder weak spots until it does it’s scream animation and then shoot them in the face. This will instant kill them. I’m not sure if this works for the mythic knights.

Vehicles - ghosts, warthogs and phaetons. Shoot them weak spots.

Bosses - spawn in vehicles and team shoot. Remember go for weak spots.
•Someone does need to get rid of the pawns surrounding the boss. Just try to leave one or two alive, you don’t want a new wave to spawn.

DEFENDING
Armories - the stairs are the safest place to be. You have the best sight lines at the bottom and if you get weak just go upstairs.
Misc - you can tell which group your fighting during base defense. If the enemy instantly starts capping a base it’s the prometheans, if not then It’s the covenant.

WEAPONS
Only rockets, automatics, plasma pistols and spartan lasers are worth using, so save your snipes, swords, and hammers.
Misc - plasma pistols kill ghosts and phaetons quicker than any other weapon when shot into their weak spots

VEHICLES
Misc - the passenger on a gungoose has infinite nades.

This is a great post for those struggling with Firefight. I knew most of this, but still, I appreciate the fact that you took the time out of your day to post some tips to help out others. Do you plan on adding more tips later?

If you get into a scout warthog passenger seat with a hammer, you can three hit ghosts. Also hammers combined with an over shield do work on attackers when they over run a base or right when enemies drop out of a ship. Also, bolt shots and suppressors (and their upgraded variants) are good against breaking the armor on Prometheans!

We recorded a podcast recently talking about some firefight tips. Here was what I came up with:

  • Recommended loadout
    Kinetic bolts / Long Range
    One precision, one automatic

Armor Mods
 Upgraded Shields - Increased shield strength.
 Patrol Case - Carry additional ready and reserve ammo for all loadout weapons.
 Wheelman - Any vehicle you are seated in quickly recovers from EMP effects and has increased damage resistance

  • Know where to shoot specific enemies (red hit markers)
    Hunters – In the back
    Phaetons – belly of the ship
    Warden – back
    Grunt Goblins – back / nose once on fire
    Knights – Shoulders

  • Plasma Pistol is extremely valuable in WZFF

  • Use your REQs, especially your vehicles

  • No longer sell all my REQs

  • Wait until the round starts to choose my vehicle

  • When enemies are dropping or spawn, throw a grenade to get a string of kills

  • An enemies weapon will be the most effective against that enemy.

  • Focus on 1 boss at a time

  • If you get an easy objective, take time to slay unimportant enemies to boost your REQ level.

  • Communication is a big key in firefight

  • If playing solo, choose your REQs based off of what other players are using.

  • When Wardens are in the core, try to lure them out for more visibility

  • Run with a partner, even if your queuing solo, find a guy & fight with him even if your not talking

In the early rounds hop in a warthog or ghost. Much quicker to splatter soldiers, etc than to shoot them. Can’t splatter Knights, but a DMR to the glowing bits works great. Use the Plasma Caster on EVERYTHING. It’s level 3 req and you can charge, shoot, hide over and over. Works great. Wraith + Wheelman mod= Win. Tanks are great but you risk spawning far away. Took me 60 seconds to get to the fight on Apex in a tank. Not good when there is only 300 seconds to begin with. Spartan laser works great on those high flying banshees. Railgun seems to suck in FF. That’s all I got
