Hello everyone.
I’m sure this topic has already been discussed, but I have a bit of feedback on the Firefight spawn system to dish out,
as well as on the betrayal system.
Issue 1.
I understand that dying should be “Punished” in some way in this game mode.
But after making me wait for 30+ seconds to spawn after death, very often I have to run to the other side of a (large)
map in order to return to the fight, that is mostly over before I even get there.
The saddest part is that right next to the main combat area there is a req station and a base where I could spawn.
Am I missing something here? And don’t just say “git gud”
Issue 2.
Is there any way to flag people that keep killing other players just for -Yoink- and giggles, or am I missing something here as well?
I know it’s supposed to be a casual game mode, but being a -Yoink- with your Ghost or Banshee and repeatedly running people over isn’t very fun imho.
I don’t wanna trigger the hard core Firefight crowd, but those are my main concerns with regards to this very fun game mode

I’ve never liked the respawn timer or distance in Firefight. To me, they’re half-baked ways to add difficulty to the game and have been talked to death with no sign of change.

I agree with the part of artificially making it more difficult.
It is kind of a way to punish you for mistakes, but when a team mate runs you over with a Ghost 3 times in a row it just feels cheep.
Yeah you can report them for unsporting behavior but it not gonna do a lot of good, because XBL doesn’t know what he did.
Maybe they could implement the same system that is in place in other game modes.

There’s a boot system in place, but I find it finicky and unreliable.
I’ve always liked the idea of an in-game reporting system, but it’s an academic discussion for Halo 5.

Issue 1 is a pain in the -Yoink- and whoever thought it up should have it shoved up theirs, I seem to always re-spawn on one side of the map with the fight at the other end of the map, but as has been mentioned probably nothing will ever be done about it now
Most times when that happens to me, if there’s 30 seconds or less left on the clock when I re-spawn, I don’t even bother trying to get back in the fight as there is not enough time left by the time I get there to make a difference.
Issue 2 is one that has happened to me several times and as mentioned there is a boot system as mentioned here,

I normally play the game with a friend or two 75% of the time, if we start having problems like that, we coordinate it so that when he gets the boot, we’re there to pick up his vehicle and put it to better use, saving us from using one of our req’s. Got a nice wraith last night from someone that got the boot. And after the game if you know the gamertag, you can access the profile and report him to Xbox and block them
I agree with the spawn locations. On Sanctum round 5 when you have to fight the 2 wardens and you bring in a scorpion it spawns you on the other end of the map. I find that very unnecessary. The timer is fine.
As for betrayals I’ve only done it accidentally. If someone decides to ground pound my ghost that’s travelling at high speed, that’s the individual’s problem.

I’m joking, I had to do it though
I understand where you’re coming from but it’s designed like that to be challenging, maybe Mythic wzff could spawn you slightly closer but other than that it’s pretty fair. Normally when it spawns you the furthest away is when you’re using a heavy vehicle like a tank, mantis, or wraith. That’s just to even the playing field though, for those poor souls who can’t get one yet!
As for the betrayers, well, the forum rules don’t allow for inappropriate conduct so I’ll keep my secret not so secret words to myself ;).

Hahaha, I’m sure you’re already good, you raised some good points. I hope my idea on your thoughts help.

Certain players think it’s funny to continuously betray opponents. I report them through their profile.

I know probably not the right place for this, But, could always send me a message on xbox (GT is forum name), we play on U.S. EST timezone, between 9pm (or a little earlier) and midnight. We are always looking for more players to team up with.

First of all I only play in Mythic firefight so my experience comes from there.
The big parts walking I don’t mind not even When I have a vehicle. It Can make me feel safe. No, what I mind is that when you finely spawn you regularly spawn in a group of grunts or Crawlers and if you do not there are most likely 1 or 2 squads of prometheans solders or elites between you and the boss. The elites need 3 shots of a scorpion in the face before they die. Killing them all is pointless because before you can kill the 2e squad end cross the path/steed the 1e has respawned and Shoot you in the back
But I suppose that and the skulls is what makes is Mythic. And that is for me what I like about it. Yes is cursing and shouting but so be it, that is why you get ±4000 to 5000 REQ point per game (unboosted). Even if you don’t win the 5th round
and the killing Teammates part, yes that is Annoying
Teammate hits you whit a car or something and shields down. And well, it being Mythic they won’t com back. Than the enemy spawns and before you know a grunt or Crawler has given you a headshot
They should let us choose where to spawn like in Battlefield.
I’ll give you another scenario which also sucks. There will be times where I spawn a tank in the respawn screen and I do get put right near the action which should be great, right? It isn’t because it will be a Warden round and I’ll be on the wrong side of the action. I’ll end up being the only person on one side while everyone else is on the other and I can’t escape because the Warden just focuses on me the entire time until I die.

What you want to do is when you’re playing mwzff is after a couple of games invite people to your fire team and get a nice team going. You’ll be able to jump on Comms and it’ll hopefully solve your team killing problem! While also giving you more of a chance to win the game.
As for the spawns I’m sorry mate you’re on your own there, I can honestly say I’d be pretty mad if I spawned on Grunts and Crawlers straight off the bat on Mythic lol.
