Warzone Firefight REQs give me heartburn.

So with the blurred reveal of the Warzone Firefight update, the community is buzzing about all the possibilities to what we could be getting.

We are getting Score Attack for campaign and Warzone Firefight. The latter is obviously the most anticipated, and I’m willing to bet that people won’t really care abput Score Attack unless it offers them points to commendations. Moving on.

We have three new maps coming in hot: Prospect, our fifth Warzone map that begins with a boots on the ground assault to take down an enemy boss. We have our Warzone Assault variant of Skirmish at Darkstar, so I guess that’ll be cool, now that there are new ways to defend the core. And we have a new Arena map, which I believe is a fresh one, not a remix, but I could be wrong.
This adds some new locations which make gaming less monotonous, but of course, Warzone Firefight ends that argument before it even begins. Now we get into the rough.

There’s a total of 20 new REQ cards coming in this update. A handful of them were supposed to drop with Hog Wild. What the hell? Sure, this update is the largest we’ve seen to date, but let’s be real for a moment and ask the big questions: Why are we getting a new mode to a campaign that people regard as the worst Halo campaign yet? And why play it if it’s just for score and doesn’t provide any advancement on commendations or REQ points? I’m a bit biased here, considering I’m a collector, so them REQs always look amazing to get, but realistically, there are tons of games, new and old, that people can play and progress in that take priority and attention over Halo 5: Judgement Day.

On the known list appears to be the two Brute Plasma Rifle variants that were placed in the Requisitions Collection tab in game, then pulled a few minutes later; two new sets of armor which, I admit, look pretty baller (Spartan of Cinder. Halo Souls, anyone?); the Patrol Case modification, which I’m willing to bet increases your ammo capacity, like in Halo 4; a Temple Banshee, not to be confused with the Golden Banshee of legend that kills Spartans just by doing banshee tricks; and last but certainly not least:

Emblems. 4 of them.

Oh, God, the ulcer’s acting up again.

Where’s the assassinations? Where are the stances? Where’s the option to change your VISR display to the way they look in the Campaign (That would be awesome, right)? Where are our community playlists and our option to put REQ weapons on forge maps and in custom games? These are the things we wanted, not emblems! Was that not clear? It feels like year one of Destiny:

Community: Can we get better balance in the Matchmaking PvP and make endgame stuff more rewarding?
Bungie: So what you’re saying is nerf everything?

If this is the final Update for Halo 5, then I will be hard pressed to even look at the game over my last summer with free time.

I don’t think people won’t care about Score Attack unless it will unlock some things.

I still think finishing campaign on Legendary solo should unlock some armor or anything.

WZ Firefight? HELL YEAH.

To be honest?
I think they should stop doing new Arena maps, at least for the time being and deliver MORE Warzone maps. Playing 5 same maps will get boring. WZ Assault is even more neglected, while Arena has SO MANY MAPS.

And yeah, also disappointed. It was said to be the biggest update - part of the last month’s udpate was delayed to be released with this one… And what? Beside the Warzone Firefight the update seems like the smallest one.

Also, I agree. Emblems are the least important things.

BUT, to make more strange looking armor why not just bring the armors that were in Halo 4? EOD? So many people miss it and community would be happier to get these than another coffee machine looking helmet…

Also, I’d trade all that stuff for more Warzone/WZ Assault maps and more different bosses…

Remember, this is only the Sneak Peek. There should be more news Friday and when the Patch Notes come out when the DLC releases. I think it’s a huge update, it just has less REQs than other DLCs. It has more content than unlockable items.

Score attack has achievements, and that’s literally the only reason I will touch it.

Sneak peek - they will just reveal the blurred images, they won’t add anything more.

People do complain (and with good reason) that there’s too many REQs in-game already, so I guess 343i decided to decrease the amount of REQs that come in every update since 80% of the community no longer wanted more REQs.

OP as being a year Destiny player I understand where you’re coming from, the only difference was Destiny was more straight forward in their content updates in year 1. I have no clue what’s going to happen in this game after the WZ FF update. That’s what I’m most concerned about. I would even pay for DLC in this game.

  1. Score attack is coming because people went crazy when score was taken away from campaign.
  2. People play the campaign for fun. This adds something new. Plus new achievements
  3. REQs are coming to forge. Its already confirmed
  4. 343 have already stated they will continue to support the game, they just haven’t revealed how yet

There will be more Forge News. More info on the Warzone Bosses. They’ll say what the new items do and more.

Yes!! I can finally have fun and play around with the REQ weapons! Maybe make like a firing range for em. But also think of the game modes can be made

I did not! :DDDDD

The new Warzone map brings the total up to six (Your OP states 5).That’s double the amount of dedicated invasion maps Reach had. The assault map brings the assault total up to 5.

As for score attack I’m fairly excited to see it return. I hope they add leaderboards here so we can see global records. Hopefully they add some speed running achievements too.

Most people prefer not to see the REQs bloated by generic armors and weapon skins. The REQs they are adding are pretty cool especially the weapons so in this update it seems like quality over quantity. I don’t see how that can give you “heartburn”.

The new Arena map is the Rig remake that was teased in The Sprint

They said some new achievements are coming with this update and I am sure they will have to do with score attack. While I am one of the rare players now a days who cares about achievements and Halo gamer score but I am looking forward to it. Most don’t seem to want to game unless it unlocks some digital trinket.

  • You seem confused on the maps, Prospect is the new Assault map while Sanctum will be the new Warzone map set on Sanghelios, the Elite homeworld. And the new arena map will be the remixed version of the Rig teased in the Sprint and featured a lava river.
  • Halo 5’s story may be the worst in the game, but it’s the best cooperative experience we’ve had since ODST and it’s a fun experience in general. The levels are well crafted and the engagements are fun.
  • Remember emblems are no longer earned the same was as certifications and cosmetics, they are a separate third unlock now. Plus the valkyrie emblem has been around since Halo 2 and many fans are excited to see it return
  • We don’t need new assassinations & stances in every update, in fact we could use less in my opinion. Aside from armor skins & visors, they make up a bulk of the REQ filler after the emblem changes.
  • So you want 343i to make a custom HUD for every helmet (roughly 80) for use in multiplayer? You do realize some helmets don’t have visors and relay on external cameras, right? It’s a cool feature, but it’s not needed.
  • Community doubles is literally live right now
  • The option to put REQs into forge has been heavily hinted to be coming with this update, maybe you should do more research before making a thread like this?
  • Nice click bait title, did you write this thread from your hospital bed after you were rushed there for the heart burn from a video game?

> Most people prefer not to see the REQs bloated by generic armors and weapon skins. The REQs they are adding are pretty cool especially the weapons so in this update it seems like quality over quantity. I don’t see how that can give you “heartburn”.

It gives me heartburn because I can only make guesstimates at the blurred REQs. Now knowing that the Unsc is getting an aerial vehicle, I am slightly more satisfied, but that won’t slake my thirst for an assassination that doesn’t feel too ridiculously brutish or generic. Let’s be real here, flipping around a spartan like Black Widow would be sick as hell.

If you read, you’d know that I didn’t even look at the forge updates. I have too much to worry about in my life to check every single detail on a video game website.
