The announcement of Warzone Firefight is great and all, but is there any chance it’ll be playable offline? So far, Halo 5 has nothing to offer offline besides campaign, so an offline capability for Firefight (like in ODST & Reach) would be really cool if you ask me. I have horrible internet, so it would be nice to see!
It’s going to use REQ packs so it will definitely require internet. If it’s any consolation, it may have the option for single player.
There should be offline, but no.

ok i promise i’m not saying “just get better internet hurr hurr”, but, where in the world are you that you have internet that’s bad enough to prevent you from enjoying online gaming?
just curious - i’ve lived in lots of places and the only place I encountered horrible internet was Talil, Iraq.

For me, it isn’t the “having internet” issue. It’s the issue of only having access while it’s online. I want offline access to Halo 5 multiplayer, so that I can LAN with it over a local connection (less lag), so that I never have issues loading REQs or anything stored in the “cloud”, and so that I actually feel like I own what I earn in Halo 5 multiplayer, instead of “well, you only own it while the servers are online and you have an internet connection”.

hey i have no objection to offline capability for various game modes, was just asking about his connection issues. In fact, i consider myself primarily a single player campaign focused gamer, so I definitely have beef with many games that are online only. I have fantastic internet though, so it’s rarely more than a minor inconvenience, like server maintenance downtime.
I wouldn’t hold my breath on it coming offline at any point, as long as it’s under the Warzone umbrella.

The sooner you come to terms with the fact that you only own a software license and everything associated with that relationship, the better off you’ll be.
just like forge halo warzone firefight will require an online subscription

I doubt it. You can’t do anything outside of campaign offline. Terrible design really.
I hope it does. I like lone wolfing sometimes and halo 5 doesn’t offer that… even in campaign

Again, I know what you’re saying, but that isn’t the spirit of my argument.
Because if we want to get really technical about it, technically you don’t ever really own anything. You don’t own your house or you land, just your permission to use it. But that’s not the spirit of the argument.
It would be nice, but I doubt that they will. Today is all about the online experience, so that is what 343 wants to deliver that to us, even if some in the population want to have more offline experiences besides campaign.
We Just Have to wait…343 Said they looked at the original ODST firefight and that was Just great playing alone, splitscreen with a friend or Just throug System link. I want to Be able to play Firefight All alone by myself. IT Just helps me getting much better at online multiplayer. I am willing to pay for offline firefight if I Have to…Come on 343 don’t Let uS down now, we already had a Poll in februari and 84% off the Community voted for offline Firefight like IT used to Be!
You mean, solo? IDK if that would be playable. They would have to scale everything down, and drastically.
All Halo 5 multiplayer modes require an Xbox LIVE connection.
That would be the smart thing to do, but judging by the amount of smart decisions 343 has made highly unlikely.

Then you haven’t lived in some parts of rural USA (like, outside of town). Good luck playing an online game with that shoddy infrastructure. That said, to the OP’s point: The mode was obviously designed to use server side resources to work, so I’d think they’d have to make a completely redesigned mode to have that available. Also, as previously mentioned, with the tie-in to the REQ system… it’s just not going to happen with this iteration. Now, will they end up providing options for private matches and modifying features? At the moment that’s looking like a “no”, but I’d kill to see a version of it that allowed for that, even if it meant I’d have to give up access to the REQ system as is (as long as we can get vehicle and weapon spawns somehow).
So… a solo warzone.
Yeah don’t you remember ODST? You could Be Spartan John…Rambo!
