warzone firefight is still terribly flawed

I’m sorry if I offend the ‘‘343 can do no wrong crowd’’ with this but Warzone Firefight is inexcusably flawed. It is WAY too obvious that this mode is designed for maximum REQ consumption with very little attention for overall playability. How else would you explain the following points that still haven’t been addressed?

  • Extremely low player TTK with laser pinpoint accuracy from all types of enemy AI - An overabundance of Bosses - No way whatsoever to hijack enemy vehicles even if they can hijack yours - Too many Prometheans spawning in inescapable puff clouds resulting in an inevitable death - No melee combat between AI and player due to instant death from AI melee strikes, forcing you to use (ranged) weapons - Power weapons barely doing damage against bosses, forcing you to use heavy vehicles - Spawning all the way back of the map so the player has to factor in an additional 20-30 seconds ON TOP of the spawn time penalty - Spawning Mythic bosses in the back of the base where they are almost impossible to even hit. - The 5 minute timer Most of these points have one thing in common; they force you to use REQ’s to deal with them. I’m not necessarily against REQ’s giving you an edge in the fight, but when the game mode is designed in such a way that REQ usage is mandatory to win? Hell no! There is no way this can be defended unless you own stock in Microsoft, and please tell me how you don’t need REQ’s after you face a Mythic boss with your loadout weapon. Warzone Firefight is the prime example of micro-transactions ruining a game. And it disappoints me to see that people accept this kind of crap from 343i

Only thing I really have an issue with is the ineffectiveness of power weapons against bosses. It really does make them an afterthought in comparison to vehicles. I’d like to see some kind of ammo regeneration capability given to power weapons, or at least crank the hell out of the energy regeneration so we can access more of the power weapon reqs.

And maybe I’d like to see Covenant rounds weighted a little heavier in comparison to the Promethean rounds. That’s about it really.

I agree. After spending hours in firefight i just dont like how u can only play it one way. If you dont use vehicles you will lose. We should have several ways to be able to play. I would like to see at least a return to the classic firefight without vehicles and no timers. The timers just force you to speed run through firefight its hard to enjoy over and over again when thats the only way to play it.

It should have been winnable with 8 good players using loadouts. Not only do you have to use REQs, but 80% of the reqs are useless due to all the AI being bullet sponges. All power weapons have way to little ammo to be useful, banshees and mantis get lit up by the AI, wasp and phaeton are paper. All I ever use are plasma caster (works great on grunt mech), hogs and ghosts (for splatters), tanks and wraiths. Really to win you need someone splattering to take out the minions, and tanks and wraiths in the later rounds. Guns alone won’t win very often if ever.

I agree. Upsetting thing is how this isn’t a priority for 343. They should have released a patch by now. It’s become incredibly boring incredibly quickly. The most upsetting part is how unbalanced the req system is. So many weapons none really matter. Yeah the sniper is effective against grunt mech once his health is under 40% and maybe a laser/rocket launcher is good for a banshee or two but none of the other req weapons really matter. So many high quality weapon reqs most useless. It’s high req vehicle or bust. Phaeton is irrelevant because you’ll only use one every 50th match banshee at wave 5 is useless too so it’s either tank or wraith (tho wraith can also be useless depending on the map/round for example banshees). So mostly it’s tank you will need.

They could have easily changed minor things that would have taken them less time than the hotfix which was basically moving rounds.

For the people who are sick of the complainers. Don’t worry. I’ll stop playing altogether in a week or two. I kept playing hoping for changes but I’ve had enough. It’s just not fun anymore.

But it was fairly easy. That does not mean they had to make it frustratingly hard using cheap spawns, bad spawn timers, terrible spawn locations, and bullet sponge bosses, etc…

Yes but if any one hasn’t learned that 343 seems to only deal in extremes. I thought the beta was fine honestly… firefight is supposed to be a fun social time. They really need to make the difficulty adjustable. Have a regular firefight ( which pays out less xp and rp but plays similar to the beta) then make a mythic firefight that plays like the one we have now.

I agree. They can’t seem to find a balance like other games do with their PvE modes. It’s a shame because I was really really really looking forward to Firefight.
