It may be fun but to call it firefight is just dishonest. Firefight is a survival horde game mode where you and your friends are supposed to be the ones defending yourselves from an army. In reach you could change so much it was almost unreal. You could change wave sizes, you could change spartan traits, you could change what spawned during each wave, you could play as an elite and lead the attack on the spartans, it was almost perfect.
Warzone firefight is just a glorified version of early spartan ops. Kill X amount of enemies to kill boss Y. If anything the roles have been switched, the spartans are the ones now attacking a base of enemies trying to survive against us. And whether you believe this is firefight or not everyone can agree the downgrade from reach is just appalling. We can’t even play it on singleplayer.

Amen. I remember playing Reach’s firefight with my friend for the first time. It was challenging but fun, and I didn’t need an internet connection, I just needed someone sitting next to me.
You can’t compare good old Halo’s with Halo 5
Considering it’s also called Warzone Firefight, you wouldn’t expect it to be single player.
Honestly, I’d have preferred Spartan Ops to what we got… Though I’m one of the apparently few who actually liked it (It was an actual CASUAL mode).

I would expect it to have some similarities to Firefight other than just having “rounds”.

It does have other similarities. You’re intentionally excluding them trying to make your point appear more legitimate. If the mode was called “Firefight” I would agree with you but it’s not. It’s called “Warzone Firefight.” Like how Cherry Coke doesn’t taste like normal Coke. I can’t stand Cherry Coke, and it tastes quite different from normal Coke. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t share a name.
Edit: also I partially agree with your point. I’m not trying to bust your chops too much. The modes do have clear cut differences and I do personally prefer the ODST version to both the Reach and H5 versions.
I love the new Firefight, especially because it doesn’t get boring. 20 minutes is enough playing for me honestly. But I would like to see the survival gameplay return. Maybe 343i can add it in an update!
I agree.
With just a little less warzone it would be perfect.
I want halo reach style maps.
I miss scoring 80,000 - 33,000.
Well, it is called Warzone Firefight. The warzone is the key to what makes it different. I would like a traditional firefight though.
