Gday all, hope you are all having a great holidays.
Now I do apologise in advance if this has already been discussed or it is in the wrong area.
Just started playing Halo 5 again and enjoying firefight. I was just curious if there were any unspoken rules such as not picking up enemy power weapons during like phase 2-3. Like not to blow my whistle but I can take down an elite quite easily with a pistol or assault rifle but enjoy seeing the enemies explode in pink when I use the needler. However every time I use it I get shot at by friendlies and no one else uses them. Seems like a form of light aggression to get me to stop…I’m not sure. Any opinions would be great. Cheers, Cal.
Don’t worry about what other people do. Picking up enemy weapons is a good way to get new weapons without spending REQs. And you should definitely do it for weapons you like, because they don’t stay on the ground for long; fallen weapons despawn after a set amount of time, somewhere between 30-60 seconds.
If someone makes an effort to get their weapon back I give it to them. But I see Spartans pick up my weapons all the time, which I’m happy to see, because it helps the team and -Yoink!- it somebody better use it!

No, in general. The polite thing to do would be to return the weapon to its rightful owner if it is feasible.

This is a good practice. But if I die, while having a power weapon, I’m Ok with someone picking it up and using it to help win the match. I’ve seen teammates run past my power weapon on the ground, knowing it’s almost full. In WZFF, almost no one listens to call outs and it’s sad to see the weapon go to waste. That radar beacon signal people are talking about is not active once you die. It could be used to let a team mate know where you were and he can pick up the weapon. Just saying.
