It sounds like objectives are more clearly displayed by splashscreens. Also I like how there is a bar added that shows the progress of something being captured. Scoring is explained well too.
I had asked for a shared pool of lives, but I think I will like what 343 did instead. They are implementing a system where the respawn timer increases for subsequent rounds. That adds to the more survival focused element that I wanted, but it also keeps everyone in the game instead of waiting.
Also it looks like Firefight will be available for 6 maps which is great! The only question is do you think Urban is real for Firefight or did 343 mean B.O.N.?
I really don’t like how it’s a static increase every round. It just promotes hiding in the back with DMRs instead of actually taking a risk with vehicles or the like.
That means if you do amazing the whole game, but end up dying to the Grunt Goblin or Warden Eternal, you’re immediately out 25 seconds at least.
If a Warthog with 3 people are killed (and they will), thats nearly half the team.

Yeah, and the issue with that is…?
There should be consequences for dying and not playing well. If you’re going to run out in the open with a full Warthog and get yourself killed, it’s because you weren’t playing intelligently. Be smart, or face the consequences. That’s how Firefight should be, rather than a 15 minute session without any challenge where you can goof around and still win.
Careful now, you just made a positive post. Waypoint is way more focused on irrational complaints and undeserved hatred directed at 343. Thread might get locked for unabashed enjoyment of the game and a positive attitude toward an update.

That’s exactly the problem, dying one time can be 5 seconds or 25 seconds, just depending on when you die. A much better way is for the timer to be dynamic to each player, depending on how often they die. There, a consequence for not playing well.
You might as well say Firefight isn’t a place to use vehicles, since in Round 5 you’re most likely going to face Warden Eternal or Grunt Goblin, both of which can stunlock you with EMPs and kill you outright.
Everyone is just going to hang back with their DMRs and pew pew everything from halfway across the map. Not the kind of engagement 343i has been trying to push.

Yeah there is a lot of unhappiness on the forums. Now I totally get people giving constructive criticism. But sometimes it seems like people are being ridiculous.
I rather like the objectives to it. Keeps you from hunkering down and just turtling through the waves as they get harder.
That makes the game play more dynamic. Pushes you out of your comfort zone. If it didn’t have you reposition every so often, again, you would just turtle and it would be the same round over and over again.
I don’t want that.
