Warzone Firefight: Adding Human Enemies and Bosses

As we all know, Warzone is just a simulation. The variety for Warzone Firefight is really good, it’s very rare to get the exact same game or even two identical rounds back to back (Of course it’s possible), however, we may end up getting bored of the Covenant and Prometheans sooner or later (I hate Prometheans already to be honest), so that’s why I think we should also see more variety with the enemies we fight.

Why not add Humans into the rotation? Marines maybe easy to kill, but having Spartans mixed in with their own look apart from ours, then they’d be the Elites of the humans. The Hunters/Knights of the Humans can very well be the Cyclops from Halo Wars with it’s own unique move-set. This can be used as a legendary take down or just an average enemy to kill. As far as vehicles go, have Wasps, Scorpions, Gungooses, Warthogs, and Mantis be some of the vehicles we fight that the humans use.

Even though we have enemies and vehicles to fight, we still need something special to fight if not than it’ll still remain boring. Covenant have Grunt Mech, and the Promeths have Warden Eternal. So here are three Mythic/Legendary bosses we could fight-

A Big Turret:
Yes, I mean a BIG turret. A Turret that is dropped from a Pelican as a box, then unfold as a massive turret dropping off marines and Spartans to protect it. This turret has Anti-Air and Anti-Vehicle turrets so it will be deadly fighting it head on with vehicles with small enemy controlled turrets to attack infantry and any vehicles straying too close. The Turret will have a heavy shield but upon destroying either the shield generator inside or shooting it until the shield goes down, then the Turret itself will go down quickly and easy. The Shield Generator would be easy to destroy but guarded heavily by many marines and Spartans (The marines are infinite spawning, but the Spartans will not respawn). This would be available in both Warzone and Warzone Firefight.

An Incendiary Rogue Spartan:
A Rogue Spartan that has been burned to nearly the point of death has made the fire his weapons. He will be holding a Halo 3 Flamethrower and will occasionally throw incendiary grenades. His shield and health isn’t a lot, he will have the amount of health of three elites and shields of five elites. He will not be accessible by vehicle so he will be in areas where you will only be able to kill with weapons. He will be able to fly/hover around his area with his boots (Basically jet pack boots), he will be screaming a lot of cheesy burn puns (Burn, baby, burn!) and when you get his health to 10%, his shield falls off and gains back all his health (I mean it’ll take like 5-7 headshots with a BR to kill him at this point) and he will begin charging at everyone with a Vorpal Talon energy sword while screaming. Upon killing him, he will catch into flames and fall to the ground. When he is charging, you will be able to assassinate him as well if you’re lucky. This would be available in both Warzone and Warzone Firefight.

An Elephant/Mammoth:
An Elephant is a vehicle that we see in Halo 3, while a Mammoth is seen in Halo 4. I believe the armory and weapons of a mammoth with the size of an Elephant would be a good fit for Warzone, this vehicle will be able to move (pretty slowly) and will be able to tank a lot of damage from vehicles. It would have cyclops, Spartans, and marines protecting it with Warthogs patrolling. It will have the turrets on the sides including 1 Gauss Turret, 2 Chain Turrets, and 1 Rocket Turret. The driver will be protected by a door, so the only way for Infantry (Us without vehicles) can destroy it without power weapons is by infiltrating the Elephant/Mammoth and destroying the core. The core will be guarded by automatic turrets (Upon being destroyed they will not return) and as well with infinite spawning marines with a 30 second timer and infinite spawning Spartans with a 45 second timer. Only 3 Spartans and 10 marines will be able to spawn at any time, so after 3 enemy Spartans spawn, no more will be able to spawn until one dies which will begin the 45 second timer. It’s 2 Spartans every 45 seconds and 5 marines every 30 seconds (If enough space). The core will be as strong as the core you destroy in regular Warzone/Assault, and will directly be impacted by the damage it has received by any vehicles outside (50% destroyed by vehicles, core can only take 50% before being destroyed, this way so people without vehicles will have a chance to help take down a Mythic or a Legendary. This would be a Warzone Firefight exclusive.

This would also be a good chance to add new REQs such as the Elephant/Mammoth at REQ level 8/9, and also Halo 3 Flamethrower.

Tell me what you guys think of:
A. Having enemy humans in Warone Firefight.
B. The bosses I have given you an example of.

Might I suggest you just play Warzone? Plenty of humans there.

I can tell you didn’t read.

Not even going to consider something you say unless you consider what I say.

Actually I did read. You’re asking for them to script AI for Spartans, which doesn’t exist, as well as code, model, texture, and animate things like Pelicans dropping turrets, flamethrowers, special NPC Spartan models and more. Which is asking a lot considering how long it takes for them to add content as simple (in comparison) to a gametype from a previous Halo.

There AI script for Spartans. Play Halo 4.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Not sure how easily they could implement any of it but really, the Marines are already in the game. And with enemy AI using all the available vehicles already, that’s a simple way of making Marines a challenge to a group of SPARTANS.

Hell, we have Gruntpocalypse. Why not a Section 8 Marine round? Or, just relabel them as Insurrectionists?

Good thing we’re not playing Halo 4 and the only human NPCs we’ve seen that aren’t Campaign followers are Marines.

It’s a suggestion. Spartan AI is in Halo 4 and in Halo 5 (Buck, Vale, Fred, Linda?). Just tidy them up and they are good. Cyclops could easily walk and work as a mantis/grunt mech, but have it’s own weapons. Special NPC’s could simply be Recruits with a bright color such as Red to show us that these guys are different. Dropping a turret doesn’t really seem like such a big deal and neither does adding Halo 3 Flamethrower into the game, the only hard thing they would make would easily be the Mammoth and Incendiary Spartan.

Thank you, I was trying to thank of the name, and I couldn’t remember for the life of me what the bad humans are in Halo.

Yeah, it wouldn’t be too difficult, but the Mammoth or Incendiary Spartan would be pretty difficult to add.

Halo 4 =/= Halo 5. Campaign followers won’t exactly work when they have no one to follow, and if it’s AI following AI, well, you’re going to run into a pathfinding bug. “Just tidy them up and they are good” is easier said than done. Cyclops will require a new model with moving parts, damaged models, next gen textures, weapon hardpoints, particle effects like sparks and fire, more fluid movement mechanics than for example a Mantis, and other animation and AI tweaks so it does more than just stand there getting shot. Also creating it’s own weaponry will be much harder than, say, oversizing needles and using Talon of the Lost needles like the Goblin does. Whatever turret you’re talking about will require it’s own model and AI to work and that’s not something that’s easy to do, especially with how the Halo engine is coded. And the Halo 3 Flamethrower needs to be remodeled, given new particle effects, and re-balanced damage-wise for the new sandbox since Halo 3.

The Incendiary Spartan is just a ripoff of Sharkface but let’s go there; it will require its own textures and model and lightmapping for charred looking armor, new weaponry, new code for AI movements, how it reacts to getting shot, how it decides who to attack when fighting multiple players, how it decides to attack. It’s not a simple if>then. It’s lines and lines and lines of code to create a new enemy type, and you’re asking for multiple Spartans types, vehicles, etc. The Mammoth would require a remodel or at least a port, and then if it’s simply ported it’ll need a whole rework to support animations, moving parts, particles, broken parts, etc, with the Halo 5 shaders. That’s not even talking about weaponry.

Look how long it took them to add the Grunt Goblin and Wasp since the game came out, the Wasp especially since we’ve been asking for a UNSC Air Vehicle since Halo 4 released in 2012. Look how long it took them to port something over like Infection.

What you’re asking for is simply too huge an undertaking for an update. The time it’ll take to do all that, it would be better to plan it ahead for Halo 6 instead, if it doesn’t get scrapped.

it be interesting lol. One map could fully focus on rebel marines/spartans etc
