Warzone FF, Prometheans

Does anyone else feel that prometheans are a completely broken enemey? They just feel so over powered and broken as opposed to fighting the covenant.

I agree with you to an extent. The fact that they use homing weapons a lot makes for a very cheap experience. They also feel like bullet sponges and there’s no character to them. I just feel really detached while killing them. Fighting the flood felt a lot more immersive and there was actual substance and soul to them which is kinda ironic given they’re basically space zombies.

Use Promethean weapons against them (Boltshot and Suppressor are easy to get) because they home in on weak spots. Use them against Soldiers and Knights to knock off their armor, and then finish them with a precision weapon. For Crawlers, just use a precision weapon and what you use for Watchers doesn’t matter as long as you can kill them before they retreat.

It’s not too bad once you can figure out their weak spots. Soldiers for some reason have a weak spot around their chest/shoulders, so shooting their head before their armor breaks takes a significantly longer time. Crawlers are one-shot, and you just have to shoot off the Knight’s spaceballs then backsmack em. I’d much rather fight the Covenant, but the Prometheans aren’t impossible. Scout hogs work wonders as well.

I don’t consider them broken, as they work as 343 intended for them to. I do, however, see them as unfair, overpowered, and incredibly frustrating to fight, especially compared to Covenant enemies.

Still, rounds like Defend the Garage on A.R.C., Kill Hunter Premiers (not sure of what kind of hunters they actually are) and Kill 2 Warden Eternals on the map with the Spire (man, I can’t believe I’m so bad with the round and map names) usually seem extremely difficult because a bunch of Knights spawn, which take a lot of time to kill, thus making it extremely difficult to complete the objective. Yesterday I was playing and from the 4 Hunter bosses we have to kill on the beach, my team only took one out, and it was thanks to me. They were all shooting the Incinerator wielding Knights, 'cause they kept killing us, while trying to kill the Hunters. me, on the other hand, tried to use Speed Boost x3 to go around the Hunters, and one smacked me from behind, I don’t know how, cause I was going really fast. Then, I called in a Plasma Caster and went behind them between the rocks, dodging Knights Incinerator blasts, and firing Charged Plasma Caster shots at the Hunters feet. Could only get one kill before I died. my point is, its not the Hunters that are hard to kill, is the prometheans that guard them.

I played Attack on Sanctum this morning, and the third level was to defend the Temple. The crawlers have always been easy to one shot headshot, but the soldiers have always been sponges. Today though, the soldiers were going down almost as quickly, after only a few headshots. It was definitely different that before, but it wasn’t like anything has changed recently that I know of.

The Soldiers that you have to kill while defending the Temple seem to all be the Sniper variant, which only takes one headshot to kill. Don’t even need to break the armor. Just aim for the head.

The Flood needs to be reintroduced to be the bullet sponge enemy.

  • Flood = Accuracy by volume
  • Prometheans = Precision targets
  • Covenant = Tactical counter
