Warzone FF mantis

Does anyone think they will ever fix the mantis spawning inside the garage on various maps?

They’re designed to spawn there.

I hope so. I dunno who put the mantis there but it’s broken af. You can kill it with vehicles but it’s hard to do so. So, the only option is that you switch to infantry. And if there’s one thing you don’t want to do in FF, it’s play infantry. That mantis is just surrounded by an army of Prometheans and it regenerates hp. I seriously hope this gets fixed.

They should nerf the add spawns around it, make it go to an area where vehicles can actually hit it reliably or…I dunno spawn a weapon that can kill it?

I think it’s intended to spawn in there, which sucks to be honest but it’s not impossible to beat it either if everyone coordinates on it. I’ve had some hits and misses with that round, but there’s some other rounds that I feel are rather unbalanced…

Defending the generators in the fourth round on Darkstar… I hate this one with a passion, and feel it’s like the Garage from the beta. What’s bad is that a SWARM of crawlers will spawn right outside the center area, then rush in and flood the generators with shots, regardless of how many Mantises or Phaetons are parked RIGHT THERE by the entrance. They come in with such speed and numbers that each wave ends up knocking the generators down a good chunk regardless of how well defended the area is. I’ve come to start monitoring the outside rather than the inside, since the AI rush in like a desperate Core Attacker with an Extended Mag SMG during Warzone Assault. So best counter is to just keep them from going in at all, which works pretty well until the Knights start doing it too.

Any of the Triple Warden fights also are immensely rough, except for the one where he spawns outdoors in ARC, Sanctum, and Urban. Those are “Tough but fair”, the ones where he spawns inside turtled up at the back of the bases where the Pelicans drop you off, are not. Vehicles are almost the “one right strategy” when it comes to Firefight because unlike power weapons, the vehicles have infinite ammo. When the bosses are holed up in the back of the bases, it’s almost impossible to get at them. The Swarmlords are easier to bring down than the Wardens, unless the Warden decides to follow a player down into the open.

A reverse from the previous two, the “Prophets’ Wrath” final wave on Apex 7 is just a joke. An absolute joke. The phantom goes down without issue and the only remotely dangerous aspect is the banshees. Then the Temple Wraith and its escort get dropped off… And usually gets blown up within twenty or thirty seconds of landing, and often without even killing anyone. This tying in with vehicles dominating Firefight and being preferable over Power Weapons. In the first three rounds, people will use weapons over vehicles, in the last two waves everyone’s in a vehicle. So you’ll have scorpions, mantises, and guass hogs firing at it from a far where it really doesn’t have much of an answer to your attacks.

But, I guess that’s kind of the point of Firefight. If you want to use most power weapons you go to regular Warzone or Assault. If you want to play with your rare vehicles without much worry of being hijacked as they’re spawned, you go to Firefight. A lot of weapons seem to have little use in Firefight, like most sniper weapons and melee weapons.
I’ve found the River of Light is great for using on bosses like Knights and Hunters, the White Scar absolutely wrecks the Hunter boss with his mass of crawler minions on Apex 7’s final round and does a great job on the Swarmlords packed in your base as well (Heck, it’s for this reason that my plasma caster count is pretty low - I use them in Firefight so much!) and the Pool of Radiance tends to find more use from me in Firefight than it does in standard Warzone. Other than that though, Power Weapons I often just bring out in the first three rounds, then swap to vehicles for the last two.

For defending the generators you need a mantis that goes in the colony and just spam stomp. I’ve gotten over 100 kills in a single round because of it. Weave on stomps, even if you’re shields are down.

It’s tough but not that tough. tanks can hit it. also helps if some one is smart enough to get in there and hit it with some plasma pistol shots.

Those Mantises are going to be my undoing - especially the one inside the garage.

The only solution would be to rush a Wasp / Phaeton to the garage’s opening before the round starts, and force the Mantis out and away from the garage just as it falls from the sky. It may be a waste of a good REQ, but it’s going to save a lot of headaches in the long run.
