Warzone Farming Solution: Core Deterioration

Farming is an annoying problem that needs solved.

I have a solution that would solve all grievances:
The core should start deteriorating (taking damage) after being exposed for two minutes.

After 2 minutes of having your core exposed, its HP should slowly start ticking down to zero. I think 1% damage to the core every 3 seconds would be ideal. So, 20% per minute. If you cant get a base in that time, the core kills itself after 5 minutes and you lose.

This still gives teams a chance to come back, and also introduces a bigger imperative (the threat of core deterioration) to get a base. But also keeps you for getting farmed forever.

Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea. I would simply add in a req xp boost for causing 75%+ damage to the core so there is even more incentive to push. The main overall solution is coring and coring under a certain time provides a bonus.

I suggested having operational turrets built into the front of the base. 2 standard turrets and 2 missile. 1 auto anti vehicle in front. It has weaker armor but locks into enemy vehicles within set range. Have 1 small turret in the base that automatically targets enemy players. They only become functions when the enemy team captures all bases. All turrets can be destroyed and the enemy gets a commendation for it just as you can get commendations for getting kills with it. Also have robots come out to repair when damaged but the enemy can kill them and get another commendation. Only so many spawn during a repair and if they are all destroyed then it doesn’t get repaired. If your team captures a base they start to repair but take a certain amount of time to do so.

I like this idea. Remember how in Reach, everything you did told you how much CR it awarded you? Something like that should appear after destroying it.

I like this idea a lot. The only thing I’d change, is 20% per minute. If you don’t manage to capture a base in 5 minutes, odds are you’re just going to get locked in your core. That’s 5 minutes of the enemy farming you to get better weapons and vehicles.

I agree they should add turrets, but they wouldn’t need to only come online during all 3 base captures. Having turrets at home base, would also help prevent enemy players from camping outside of your home base, just waiting for you to roll out a tank to hit that big legendary boss.

Sounds too complicated and also you don’t want to make it too difficult for the attacking team to destroy the core otherwise they won’t bother trying.

The OP’s suggestion sounds interesting though.

10% per minute after 2 minutes still gives us 12 minutes of free farm.

Szarkais post made me realize that. 1% instead of .05 makes it only 5 minutes of waiting.

I think thats much more tolerable. I still think my concept is good, despite my initial math being wonky.

Instead of just flat out insulting someone who is trying to bring ideas to the table, how about offering some suggestion yourself? Or at the least some constructive criticism as to why you think this is a bad idea? Looking at your past few Warzone games, it seems to me you’re one of the people who like to farm. That is part of how the game works at the moment, so i can’t fault you for that. However, it seems to me, that you’re just afraid that if people who don’t enjoy being farmed come up with a good idea, you’ll lose your precious ability to farm them. So instead, you result to grade-school levels of reasoning. Top Kek kid.

Well aren’t you a raining ball of sunshine. Just looking at something different then the surrender option, my bad if that means you can’t sit out in front of a base without dying. Adding commendations for destroying something else along with a team having some other type of defense.

tbh I wanna know something… Are you guys actually getting farmed or is it some kind of excuse for getting destroyed… Cuz I swear only been farmed once and it was heavy spawn trapping…

Not everything requires constructive criticism, some times people need to be told their ideas are flat out bad. I’m not here to give people a pat on the back and congratulate them for trying. This game does that enough already. I didn’t direct my insult at him, just his idea. There’s a difference.

Looking at my past few Warzone games? You mean where I was either solo queuing, or quick coring, or playing assault? Please tell me how effective my farm is in a 5 min game. I already have the Achilles, and all possible commendations I can work on in WZ done. There is really no benefit to me even attempting to farm, so I don’t. I get more XP/RP from fast matches.

You would have sold me on the idea if you would have included skins for the robots. That’s all I really want.

Yeah we get farmed quite a bit. But we’ve also been on the other side quite often, where our team has the opportunity to farm. At that point, we go for the core destruction. I’d love to see the Warzone population statistics, because I feel pretty confident saying that they just continue to drop. And I think farming probably has a lot to do with that.

Maybe spawning on your base and outside of the fortress could help the farmed team to capture a base
