Warzone Etiquette

OK, so this morning I boot up Halo 5 and decide to have a nice game of Warzone.
Naturally, that doesn’t exactly happen when the other team has one or two guys capturing their own armoury, and the rest of their team capturing ours.
(Me lagging around the map like and idiot didn’t help matters, although fortunately I disconnected fairly soon, which is besides the point)

Now, is it just me, or should you just let them capture their own armoury at the start of the game? Capturing their armoury before they even have chance just seems unsporting to me, you’re not even giving them chance to win (or enjoy the game much, for that matter).

Whilst quite unfair, and I do see it as a form of cheating personally, it’s the most effective way to put down the enemy team quickly. Blitzkrieg tactics like that will almost certainly give you the game.

But I do agree with you, it’s a -Yoink- move.

What… the enemy team used a “tactic” against you!? How unsporting of them! We all know that the only fair way to play Warzone is to line up and take turns killing each other.

That’s not what I’m saying. It was an effective tactic, only an idiot would say otherwise, but it’s a dirty tactic; they were mowing us down with SMGs and Halo 2 BRs while we were spamming our magnums at them, they don’t even give us a chance to be able to fight back. I mean, I can understand why they do it, I’ve basically just explained that, but from where I’m looking it just shows lack of respect for the game and the enemy team.

Achilles armor grind team’s really ruined most of the Halo multi-player experience

Funny, that happened to me in grifball on reach once, one of the best games ever

I run my teamates over in my ONI scout hog.

I wondered when you’d show up. I was going to mention the lining-up and taking turns assassinating thing. Or pass-the-parcel with the ball.

Rally Scout Hogs are best for teamkilling.

I think you need to team up with people and learn how to play the game properly.

“Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience”

If it works it works

People have tried this on me several times. Most of the time it’s only 2 people who try it and they get mowed down by everyone else quickly, but I did have pretty much the whole enemy team do this to me a few times. Not really that much tho

Etiquette implies fighting with honor in this context. I understand what you mean, if they go for your armoury as well as theirs it may seem unfair but obeying an etiquette or fighting with honor will just get you killed or lead to defeat.

The other day i was running about with an energy sword and encountered someone on the other team doing the same. We clashed once and backed up like it was a duel to clash again, but instead i got out my dmr and shot him in the face a few times and killed him. He wanted to have an honorable sword fight but thats what got him killed.

There are no unspoken rules in multiplayer and there is no Etiquette. I suggest you have a go at rushing the enemy armoury with a bunch of team mates, it will certainly surprise them and might put you at an advantage.

Don’t forget it’s cheating too. Someone should report Palmer for encouraging the capture of bases at the start of each match

All is fair in love and war. If you get outplayed, get better, don’t complain.

Cheating? Are you joking? Rushing isn’t cheating. It’s a legitimate tactic. Especially on Arc.

A form of cheating? Are you kidding me? The enemy team used a coordinated strategy to capture a base which you couldn’t capture? The enemy team sprinted to your armory all the way from across the map and outslayed your team? How is it unfair? You have the same opportunity to use your own tactics against them!

Triple Capped within the first two minutes of the game? CHEATING!
I got teamed up on by three enemies!? CHEATING!!
The enemy killed the AI on our side of the map? CHEATING!!!
The enemy team is using teamwork to beat us? CHEATING!!!
Players on my team are quiting? THE ENEMY IS CHEATING!!!

Dictionary Definition of Cheating - “act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination.”
How is using superior tactics and strategy dishonest or unfair?

The best thing you can do is be prepared for the rush. You know it is very likely to come, so plan for it. If you spawn red on apex watch the cave. If you spawn blue watch the rock. If you are on ARC take up defensive positions or go ahead and rush yourself. You can usually take out the guys who do this as long as there are only a couple of them. If it is a full out rush IE 11 or 12 man, then you might be able to hold things together until you can rally your teammates.

this bloke makes a very good point sarcastically if everybody was in game chat instead of parties with people who aren’t even in the game you could all bypass ur own armory and storm the enemies

This tactic is key in Halo Wars, and I don’t like it.

Name an RTS that doesn’t have some form of rush as a tactic for at least one team.
